I'm not ready for the gym yet...let's grind!!

With the quicker feeling battles in B&W, I found grinding much, much easier.

And, of course, with emulators, I can just press the spacebar and the game will speed along like it did a line of coke, which means I can grind 10 levels in six minutes.

Noob out.

Actually, I have a chart of sorts of how high I want my Pokemon team to be before battling someone. Here it is:
Before Gym 1-Level 16
Gym 1-Level 25
Gym 2-Level 36
Gym 3-Level 45
Gym 4-Level 50
Gym 5-Level 55
Gym 6-Level 60
Gym 7-Level 65
Gym 8-Level 70
Elite Four-Level 70+
Strongest Trainer in Region-Level 85+
Battle Frontier-Level 100

So yeah, you're not truly insane, Timbjerr. Yet.

Do you ever stop the plot in a Pokemon game to grind up some levels? Oh yes- All. the. time. I am like OCD when it comes to it; One, all my Pokemon have to be at the same level, or within a level or two of my highest. And Two, all my party has to be at the same level or higher than the Gym Leader. Haha.

-If so, how often and to which goal? Have you ever been ridiculously overlevelled by the end of the game? YES. YES. YES. Especially in Platinum, one day I was just reading through some forums on the computer and I just had my fingers fiddling on my DS in the background.. When I battled the E4, majority of my Pokemon were 70-80 -_-

Do you ever stop the plot in a Pokemon game to grind up some levels?
Only in Nuzlockes, where being weak comes with a price, or in games such as Diamond or LeafGreen, where the Elite Four is quite powerful, more so, than in the other games. I also tend to (just like you, Timb) set the gym leader's strongest Pokemon as the bar for the level of each member of my team, barr the HM slaves.

-If so, how often and to which goal? Have you ever been rediculously overlevelled by the end of the game?
Not really, I don't have the patience or lack of confidence to grind that much.

-If not, have you ever ended up cripplingly underlevelled by the end of the game?
I remember my strongest team member in HGSS was a Lv. 47 Mamoswine, and Lance always thrashed me. Other than that, not really.

Do you ever stop the plot in a Pokemon game to grind up some levels?
No, I never level grind. I don't know but level grinding in Pokemon seems to be a bother. So I never do it.
-If not, have you ever ended up cripplingly underlevelled by the end of the game?
Yes, I have. On every game. That's why I had a wide array of Pokemon types and hope that one of them can stand on it's own. That's why I was so surprised when I beat the elite Four in Unova on my first try despite being under leveled.

Yeah, often before the Elite Four or a tough-sounding gym

-If so, how often and to which goal? Have you ever been rediculously overlevelled by the end of the game?
To about the same-two levels higher than the leader/E4 member's Pokemon

-If not, have you ever ended up cripplingly underlevelled by the end of the game?

in Red and Gold I only ever used my starter, so I had say, a lv. 80 Charizard and a lv. 3 Pidgey on the same team :D
