Hi everyone! From the 1st September we're going to be rolling out a new way that we handle name changes. Here's the simple version of how it's going to work:
• name changes will only be made three times a year, for two weeks at a time.
• the gap between name change threads will be four months.
• regardless of when your previous name change was, if the name change thread is open, you can change your username.
• if the name change thread is not open you cannot change your username.
• crystal supporters will retain some name change benefits - more on that later!
We're doing this to stop confusion on when you can change your username and to reduce the hassle of constantly having to check threads / receive messages. With the new system it'll be easier for everyone to know when they're entitled to a username change, and it'll be easier to keep track with who's who as everyone changes at the same time rather than intermittently over the year.
I'm going to leave this thread open for a few days so that you can ask questions or make comments before we switch over, and so that people who may want a name change are aware of the new system. However on the day I will post forum notices so everyone should know about it! Please remember that this thread is not for requesting username changes; it is for questions and comments only.
