This isn't quite the 'add another setting to hide only font/colour' suggested in the past.
Why not give every individual element to-disable its own checkbox (though I suppose you could bunch bold/talic/underline together for one of them), so people could choose exactly what they don't want to see? Much like the hiding of postbit elements, and if that was done, surely this can't be much more troubling to re-implement in this way.

Excellent idea -- this would make it quite easy to hide what I dislike, which is color especially. I don't mind custom fonts but colors are hard to see sometimes on my light skin.

I'd like to see this myself. While I don't mind bold/italic/underline in posts, the colors and custom fonts are what I want to disable.

It was suggested before as recently as last month and no real answers were given on if we could have this or not.

I actually love how people are now able to express their style in different fonts and colors automatically. But when people type in Cabin Sketch or use a very pink color, the readability of the forums go down quite a bit for many skins :] So the lesser evil is to have an option like Cassino says. Personally I'd probably disable custom colors, since I'm more okay with reading Comic Sans or Slackey than colors that don't fit my skin.

What's that? We don't have Comic Sans anymore? Oh.
