We aren't a blog hosting service, if someone really wanted to create a personal blog they would use wordpress or something.
I prefer to blog on PC about Pokémon stuff and life simply because I enjoy the community. I don't know WordPress. I don't want everyone to intentionally be able to see it unless they're part of the board. It's not a random community or fanbase I'm looking for; rather, those of my peers.
That's why I think blogs are important on PC and updating them for more visibility is important ☺ If a function has no purpose here after all, it oughtn't exist. Since it does, and it's blatantly important enough to be part of the "donation" perks on this board - a blog is the only reason I donated, as can be said by others - then the perk needs to reflect a degree of viewability and importance by the staff, by accessibility and by presentation.
If no one can really see a blog, how is it a perk, and why would people care to donate for it? There needs to be a mutual benefit. Right now, rather than being 50-50, it's more like 50-25 in favour of the board. Sure, we got a blog technically, and sure, it functions well, but it's not truly functional.
I'm sure there are people who've donated out of the goodness of their hearts, but a lot of us did so because of blog access ☺ and maybe if it was more visible, you'd see more people donating because blogs would be more valuable rather than a "I have one" kinda deal.
... Kinda like my video game collection :pink_no: I don't sell 'em so that I can still say I own 'em. Like blogs, it's just a nice collection to look at. There's no purpose without them being more accessible / visible to the community.

As for making them more visible, I like the idea of subscriptions, contests and a floaty panel on the right-hand side of the board displaying maybe the "Recent 5" entries. Definitely would be a start anyway.
