Hello, Ray Maverick is the name I get by with. I'm 17 and a half years old, and just finished high school. It's summer, every one of my friends are away on vacation and I'm bored out of my mind. I came across this forum, "FACILITY X01-5", did some research to find out what it was about... and I thought heck, why not make a thread here.
So, this is about getting to know me. First, about my interests. I'm an artist and a writer... I love making up scenarios in my mind, and draw the characters afterwards. Since I grew up with Pokemon, I have come to love them with my whole heart (and I'm sure the love is common for everyone here!). Right now, I have combined all of my interests in a Roleplay I have created and posted on this site. I'm into fan fiction as well, though without popularity, I don't get easily motivated... the thing is, I wanted to be in a creative group project. I don't want to act alone, you know? I want others to be involved, I want my creations to have an audience, a response. That is mainly because I enjoy attention, and the reason I made this thread. Who doesn't enjoy attention, anyway?
I'll admit I'm an ambitious and optimistic person, and as such, I'm generally happy and in a joking mood (beware of my caustic jokes). I once wanted to be a moderator here in PC, but now, looking back, I laugh as I couldn't think of a less suitable person for the job. I'm lazy, and a bold blue name wouldn't motivate me to clean up these forums! But laziness is the only flaw of mine I will admit in this thread. The rest, try and find out yourself, or just ask and I will reply with a 'yes, I am', or 'no, I am not', as to make the game harder.
I like to think I'm easy to talk to. If you give me a share of attention, I'll return the fair amount of it. Interested to know about me? I'm interested to know about you. That's the way it goes. It gets further, when we like doing the same kind of stuff. I like to help people, either by giving advice or by providing other kind of support; I 'treat others how I'd like to be treated', in other words. As such, I don't hate anybody and I (think I) am equally nice to everybody. Father used to tell me, 'treat a beggar as you would a King, and vice versa', and that's the only rule I have set my mind to abide to. Otherwise, I like to be lawful. I don't drink, or smoke, or do drugs (if that's what you thought while reading the above!). I have realized that the best way to live is by having your conscience clear. If you have nothing to set your mind back, you can work wonders.
I try to be funny and entertaining at times. As a writer, the flow of my writing has to be entertaining, in order to work out. You're free to tell me if that's true or not. I love receiving criticism, even if it's the worst and most hateful kind. I challenge you to be brutally honest! If you ask for it, I can post some of my art here in this thread.
Even though I don't dress like one, the music I mainly listen to easily classifies me as a metalhead and a punk. I like death, heavy, hard, power & melodic metal, punk and alternative rock, ska, electro, industrial, these kind of things, but I can go way out of my tastes to give credits to talented bands of other genres.
After pondering alot over my whole life, I like to openly admit I'm an agnostic. But my beliefs don't change the fact that I am trying to live my life as best as possible, and I accept everyone else is doing the same. I won't force them on you, either; nor I like to debate. Your opinion is your opinion and mine is mine, and I would rather avoid clashing my arguments against yours. I dislike drama-free arguments, as they don't lead anywhere. As for the dramatic ones, I usually grab a pack of popcorn and go all out, just for funsies. Don't get me wrong.
Some trivia about me you might fancy:
- I'm from Greece! If we had a dollar for every time somebody told us they'd love to visit, we wouldn't be in debt.
- On the matter of group projects, I was once a ROM Hacker, a mapper to be precise, and now am helping Linkandzelda out with Liquid Crystal, the popular Crystal remake.
- I LOVE trivia!
- IRL, I'm actually a quiet and introvert person.
- I live with my mom, though I rather I wasn't. It's just the circumstances that have brought us to our knees, economically.
- My favorite number is 6. The first house I remember living into was the sixth in the street, and I love that house.
- I am currently having art lessons, so I can manage to get a good grade in the entry exams in the Fine Arts School here in Greece. Only 1/5 of those giving the exams pass, but there's a good chance I'll be that one among five. Or so my teacher and mom tell me.
- My mom is an artist as well, and she has taught me artistic stunts from the age I was able to hold a pencil.
- My father was an actor in theaters. He has spoken to me about all kinds of personalities you have to represent as an actor; and I found that the same goes if you are writing a book, or better example yet, in Roleplaying. I have learned to really embrace the characters I make and slip into their role so good, that my friends often think I'm evil just because I can imagine an evil character.
