Before bluetooth was existed in every phone or laptops, there was really the times when we send files to each phone or computer out there that is appropriately close. You noticed the black square spots on really old phone who uses that tech to transfer files to another

    [PokeCommunity.com] Infared

Example here, a laptop with a infrared port

Do you still remember a phone that you used before and have infrared in them? Do you use it to transfer files or what do you think a really outdated way to transfer files to a close proximity to each other

I'm not talking about remote controls like on your tv or ac because they have still have infrared, I'm more talking about gadgets who still use a old fashion file transfer.

To think about it; People not liking to short range when transffering files back then if the port was blocked or out of range then the files can't be transfered over. Thinking back of old nokia phone days

What comes to mind are the Gen 2 games on the Gameboy Color. That thing had an infrared interface that you could use to connect two GBCs with Gold/Silver/Crystal and Mystery Gift enabled.

They'd give you a present (a berry, a puppet for your room, etc.) as well as change the opponents team in Viridian City''s Trainer House according to the last person you interacted with.

Oh yeah! I forgot about GBC uses that too for communication on gen 2 games XD. They still use it

The Pokéwalker also uses IR for sending over the data of the Pokemon that you're to walk with. But yeah. IR technology is mostly outdated now, while it's still used for things like remote controls it doesn't really have much use anymore, and some TVs are even switching away from IR in favor of proprietary radio-based remotes that are far more reliable and sunlight can't inhibit their use.

Really?? Does that mean tv remote will favor more with wireless and/or bluetooth
