    Introduction
I decided to start competitive team making again, this time giving OU a go, whilst still using some favorite UU Pokemon. This team is basically for the offensive, just to come in and sweep the other team away. One thing that I do not want on my team is legendaries, but besides that, I'll take any of your comments and suggestions with an open mind. There is not really much of a theme to this team; it is just basically made of some of my favorite Pokemon that mix well to make a team with few weaknesses. So, let's have a go!

    The Team

[PokeCommunity.com] [Insert Team Name Here] [RMT] [OU]

    Swampert @ Leftovers
    Relaxed [+Def/ -Spe]
    240 HP/ 216 Def/ 52 SpA
    - Earthquake
    - Ice Beam
    - Stealth Rock
    - Roar
My Mixed Sweeper: a classic MixPert. Earthquake and Hydro Pump for STAB, Ice Beam for coverage, and Roar to shuffle through the opponents team.

[PokeCommunity.com] [Insert Team Name Here] [RMT] [OU]

    Umbreon @ Chople Berry
    Timid [+Spe/ -Atk]
    252 Spe/ 252 HP/ 4 SpD
    - Taunt
    - Wish
    - Mean Look
    - Baton Pass

Umbreon is my lead. I was looking for a lead that could run a set of: Taunt, Roar/Whirlwind, Mean Look, and Baton Pass, but I couldn't find anything that had all four of those moves, so I settled with Umbreon who wouldn't cause and highlighted weaknesses. Basically, I'll send in Umbreon use Taunt, and if I have a counter to the opponents lead I will Mean Look + Baton Pass for a quick kill. I wanted to run Roar/Whirlwind so I could shuffle through the opponents team and quickly kill any of the opponent's Pokemon who I could easily defeat.

[PokeCommunity.com] [Insert Team Name Here] [RMT] [OU]

    Rotom Heat @ Choice Scarf
    Modest [+SpA/ -Atk]
    108 HP/ 176 SpA/ 224 Spe
    - Thunderbolt
    - Overheat
    - Shadow Ball
    - Trick

[PokeCommunity.com] [Insert Team Name Here] [RMT] [OU]

    Salamence @ Life Orb
    Adamant [+Atk/ -SpA]
    252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
    - Dragon Dance
    - Outrage
    - Earthquake
    - Fire Fang
My Physical Sweeper; pretty much a basic DD-Mence, set up with Dragon Dance, use Outrage for STAB, Earthquake and Stone Edge for coverage.

[PokeCommunity.com] [Insert Team Name Here] [RMT] [OU]

    Alakazam @ Life Orb
    Timid [+Spe/ -Atk]
    252 Spe/ 4 SpD/ 252 SpA
    - Calm Mind
    - Psychic
    - Focus Blast
    - Signal Beam

My Special Sweeper: Calm Mind to set up, Psychic for STAB, Focus Blast for pesky Blissey [a 2HKO if Blissey doesn't heal herself], and Signal Beam for extra coverage.

[PokeCommunity.com] [Insert Team Name Here] [RMT] [OU]

    Scizor @ Choice Band
    Technician
    Adamant [+Atk/ -SpA]
    252 HP/ 252 Atk/ 4 Spe
    - Pursuit
    - U-turn
    - Superpower
    - Bullet Punch

A Revenge Killer, and coverage for Mence's Rock weakness. Can handle threats, and basically anything that isn't already handled.

    Please rate away!

    Changes
    • Switched Swampert to lead.
    • Put Stealth Rock > Hydro Pump on Swampert.
    • Put Adamant Nature > Naughty Nature on Salamence.
    • Put a Choice Band > Life Orb on Scizor.
    • Maxed Atk and HP EV's on Scizor. Put remaining 4 EV's to Spe.
    • Put Superpower > Roost on Scizor.
    • Put Fire Fang > Stone Edge on Salamence.
    • Put Rotom-H > Sandslash for a Scizor, Gyrados, and Lucario Check/Counter.
    Considering
    • Starmie > Alakazam for a Revenge Killer.

    Ok, a few problems

Umbreon is dead weight and is set up fodder/useless.

In addition to this so is Sandlslash, he is doing NOTHING for this team, Rapid Spin is also beyond useless outside of stall (which this team is not) and having massive SR weaks which again you dont have. Sanslash is also outclassed by Donphan (who is still useless lol) and Slash doesnt get Ice Shard by any way.

Replace both. Ill give you a good starting point. You need a Gyarados check/counter and a SD Scizor counter/check since you cannot deal with either.

Lead with Swampert, SR >> H-Pump imo. Since its a much better lead in general.

Adamant >> Naughty on mence, max speed doesnt do much. There are 2 speed benchmarks; 280 speed for Lucario and 286 speed for offensive Cune.

Whack a CB on Scizor, since its a much better revenge killer to the things you are weak to, namely salamence. Pursuit/U-Turn/BP/Pursuit max hp and att.

Alakazam is ughh, metagame used switch in, Scizor used Pursuit if you switch and bp if you stay in. Yeah that thing is pretty poor these days so i wouldnt use it.

So yeah TL;DR, replace the dead weight/poor stuff for things that would benefit your team (Zam, Slash and Umbreon) and that checks/counters : -

    • Scizor
    • Gyarados.
    And lead with pert basically.

For the scizor counter job i would reccomend something like an Expert Belt Jirachi

    Jirachi@Expert Belt
    252 ATT / 80 SP.ATT / 176 SPEED
    Naive Nature
    - Iron Head
    - Fire Punch
    - Ice Punch
    - Grass Knot

This check SD Scizor for you and can beat Lucario one vs one if need should be. Its also a pretty potent wall breaker with Iron Head Serene Grace flinch hax on your side. Grass Knot nails swampert who does wall your team quite badly.

As for Gyarados, there are a number of things you could use to deal with it.

    • A bulky water with HP Electric (see Vaporeon, Cune etc).
    • A faster Scarfer with an electric move.
    • Porygon 2, although he doesnt do much other than beat Gyarados, Physical Mence, scarf Heatran, specs Jolteon and Vaporeon and kinda sucks otherwise.

I mean something like offensive suicune >> zam with calm mind 3 attacks and a bulky spread would do the same job as zam and actually pose a threat once blissey is out of the way which would be easy if you are using Pursuit on Scizor. Whilst at the same time checking/beating Gyarados.

Although this is up to you, so yeah.

In that last slot if prolly put in a revenge killer to beat those niggling weaks like Mixape etc and to generally give this team some speed.

Anyways, just some general thoughts here. ^^

Should I alter the EV Spread on Mence since Max speed wont do much for him? Or should I not bother?

Whack a CB on Scizor, since its a much better revenge killer to the things you are weak to, namely salamence. Pursuit/U-Turn/BP/Pursuit max hp and att.

You put Pursuit twice :/ Should I just fill that slot with roost, or did you have somthing better in mind?

For the scizor counter job i would reccomend something like an Expert Belt Jirachi

Is there somthing else that can fufill the same niche? Because I extremely dislike legendary use in my teams.

In the second Pursuit slot I think he meant Superpower. It gives Scizor at least something to use against Steel-types.

Okay, thanks for the help :P

Use of Zam is better with Specs. It prevents opponents from just throwing out Scizor vs your CM and making it useless.

    Alakazam @ Choice Specs
    252 Sp. Att / 252 Spe / 4 HP
    Timid (+Spe, -Att)
    -Psychic
    -Shadow Ball
    -Focus Blast
    -Trick

Not much gets passed that with out taking some form of high damage. Worst case scenario you get stuck on Psychic vs something with Pursuit. Though, the only real pursuit Pokes that are uses regularly are CBTTar and CBScizor. You have some other Pursuiters like Weavile, but Weavile is really deemed useless (not in my opinion) by other players as BPScizor just walks all over it.

As was already mentioned you are pretty Gyarados weak. Bar roaring it off with Pert your team can't do much to DD/SE/EQ/Waterfall sets (Life orb standard). Bulky Gyara also threatens the team pretty badly.

Personal opinion, TrickScarfStarmie does your team the most justice. Bad thing is, you are now Pursuit-able twice as hard and you have 3 choicers. Though with the ability to Trick away 2 of the Choice Items if necessary I find this Ok.

    Starmie @ Choice Scarf
    Timid (+Spe, -Att)
    252 Sp. Att / 216 Spe / 40 HP
    -Thunderbolt
    -Hydro Pump/ Surf /Psychic
    -Ice Beam
    -Trick

The choice between which STAB to use goes based off what it does your team more to use. Seeing as you are Easily Pursuited I'd run Hydro Pump. Though if Accuracy is your pet Peeve just run Surf, though the ability to 2HKO TTar is just awesome.

It reaches a speed to out run some other scarfers: Scarf Gengar / Scarf Mence / Scarf Rotom-A / Scarf Porygon-Z... the list goes on.

It allows you to out run Adament Max speed Gyarados after 2 DD's which is really nice.

I agree with D-A that you need the expert belt Jirachi. In the third slot, may I suggest a scarf Rotom-h. Scizor, luke, gyara check. Plus, it isn't screwed by Blissey, which is a plus.

    Rotom-h @ Choice Scarf
    108 HP/176 SAtk/224 Spe
    Modest

    Thunderbolt
    Overheat
    Shadow Ball
    Trick

Set up on a zam is really not that good, as it doesn't have the bulk and doesn't really force that many switches. Use encorezam>>CMzam. Helps the rest of your team a lot here.

    Alakazam @ Lum berry
    24 HP/248 Sp. Atk/236 Spd
    Timid

    Substitute
    Psychic
    Encore
    Hidden Power BUG

If you come in on something setting up use encore. You also have sub so you can afford to lock stuff like Blissey and Celebi flinging status around.

Fire Fang>>Stone Edge on mence for Bronzong and Skarmory.

    Just some thoughts.

Thanks for the help! I still am wondering if I should keep or replace Zam, and what I should repalce Umbreon with.
