Internet Connection Speed

    What does everybody to connect to the internet and what's the speed? (go to Control Panels-Network Connections and click on your connection to bring up a mini screen and read the Connection Speed part..I think that's how you check anyways). I have DSL going at 100.0Mbs. Just wondering cause my DSL connection doesn't seem to be faster than my schools connection which uses 56k (I think).
     
    Your DSL isn't 100Mbit, I'm afraid.
    Thats the speed of your network card, connecting to your DSL modem.

    DSL has a theroetical limit of 6Mbit/s.

    Myself, I'm on 1.5Mbit/256k ADSL.
     
    im on 100.00 mps cable broadband. My school has t1 and the teachers have t3 on their comps.*is jealous* right now im on wireless which runs at 11.11 mps.
     
    whaaaa!!!! i got a 56k and the speed is 46.6kbs (eiler today it was some were around 49.0kbs).
     
    I have DSL but Im still not sure abou the conenction speed..All I know is it is wicked fast..XD
     
    do u have those two computers at the bottom of ur screen? They should be by the AntiVirse autoProtect thingy?
     
    100Mbit Cable..again, same problem.
    What you're seeing is your Network Cards conenction to the Cable Router.
    The Cable Arcitecture has a downstream limit of around 27 Mbps which becomes nearer 20 Mbps after overheads and an upstream limit of around 2 Mbps.

    Like I said, Network Card Speed != Internet Speed.
     
    for my comp it just says SPEED:46.6Kbs whicth is easy for me to look at.

    Dial-up. Eww. And I had AOL too, it?s lucky I wasn?t scarred for life. Now I can?t stand all in one packages like MSN and AOL, shielding people from real free alteratives. Blah. Anyways?

    3MBs/386? Up? Not quite sure on the up. Hmm. Oh, this should be in MVP. Syeah, moved.
     
    I have blazing fast Cable modem...I mean, on my downloads it actually went over 500kps...that's frickin FAST!!

    if only I could afford T5....*drools*
     
    I have Cable modem...but my friend's workplace has one crazy speed comp
     
    I have 56K dial-up, and it's super slow. It usually takes me between a few minutes to one hour to get online. (One hour happened only once, I think.) I wished it went faster. :\
