Hey guys, my name is Joseph.
I've been playing the Pokémon games since I was about 4, starting with Pokémon Leafgreen. I recently was browsing through Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Speculation forums, when I found this community. I'm very excited to be participating in the Pokémon ORAS Speculation contest, and I hope to receive one of 2 copies of the game!
Favorite Generations:
1. Hoenn + Kanto Remakes (3rd Gen)
2. Sinnoh + Johto Remakes (4th Gen)
3. Kalos + Hoenn Remakes (Will probably move to #1 if remakes are good) (6th Gen)
4. Unova + Unova Sequels (5th Gen)
5. Johto (2nd Gen)
6. Kanto (1st Gen)
An Explanation On My List:
I've always thought that the Hoenn games were the best due to their: amazing music (trumpets), interesting storyline, and great selection of Pokémon. FRLG are also really great updated forms of the originals. Mostly though, these were the games I started with, so I remember them the most. The Sinnoh games were pretty good, but HGSS is mostly he reason why 4th Gen is my second favorite. I also really liked the physical/special split that was introduced in this Gen. The Kalos games were also good. I wasn't a huge fan of the story, but the music and region make up for it. Since my favorite games are getting remade soon, this Gen will probably move up on the list soon. I really didn't like the original Unova games too much. The music was decent, the Pokémon seemed to be mostly re-skins, and it was trying to separate itself from the rest of the series too much. The sequels, however, fixed almost all my problems with the originals and are some of my favorites in the series now. Both the original Johto and Kanto games just seem a little outdated for me now. Since I don't really have any nostalgic feelings with them, I would just rather play the updated remakes.
Competitive Stuff:
I hope to get more deep into the Pokémon competitive world once the Hoenn remakes come out. I will be playing VGC format for anyone wondering. Also, I'll put my 3DS friend code below if anyone ever wants to battle.
If anyone has any questions or comments, feel free to leave them below. I could answer almost any question about Pokémon and would be happy to speculate about the new Hoenn remakes.
