Hi, i recently joined this forum.
here's my deal. i played pokemon RB extensively when it came out, like, a couple thousand hours. i was 13.
when GS came out, i played it for a little bit, but couldn't really get into it as much as the originals.
then crystal came out, and when i wasn't even interested in getting a copy for myself, i thought i was done with pokemon.
now, i'm an old, bored college student and i see all of these exciting pokemon games coming out for the GBA system that i just happen to have gotten my hands on (my younger brother doesn't play with it anymore and gave it to me.)
i haven't played pokemon in years. i'm basically just wondering what i've been missing?
i know there are many, many more pokemon available. how many are there now?
i'm going to buy an emerald game tomorrow morning and start playing it, and i was looking up some info online and saw that on saturday, may 14 there is going to be a pokemon convention in rockefeller center where i can get some kind of secret prize to catch two different legendary birds. (Ho oh and Lugia?) so i'll be going to that with my brand new cartridge. too bad i won't be able to get in any battles! my monsters will not be trained enough lol. hopefully i'll make some cool trades. i'll bring my old cards that i don't care about anymore but apparently are worth something now and see if i can't trade them for rare pokemon that people have caught. and for the fun of it i'll bring my RB games and whip out the old teams if any of these youngsters still even carry those games.
this is going to be my third pokemon convention i think.
man. i'm 20. i am pretty pathetic, but hey, its good fun, i guess. my girlfriend thinks i'm nuts hahahaha.
soo. if you read all this, thanks. if not, i'll summarize. i just need to know what the difference between ALL of the GBA games are and if getting emerald right now is my best chance at having the best game. i want to re-catch all of them.
also, did i miss much by not playing GSC?
okay. definately too long. thanks again if anyone can help me out.
