Is Brock black?

It was always Ken Sugamari's Idea for brock to be black. in the first season, there was ash(japanese) misty(white) brock (black) also, there are numerous times in the series where ash and co. are in certain american states which poses the question, are they in some type of america? these english first season episodes, must not've been the same as the japanese ones
 
I'm pretty sure the English episodes in season one were relatively equivalent to the first season episodes in Japan. Other than maybe a few changes in words (i.e. rice cakes to donuts or something like that), there wasn't any differences made because of the character's race or color in the show.

That said, please don't revive a thread that's almost two years old.
