[Other✓] Is it possible to add the physical/Special Split to an Emerald Romhack when you already did a bunch of work on it?

Hey! i am currently trying to make my first romhack for pokemon emerald and so far im learning it. i just completly forgot that gen 3 doesnt have the Split so i wanted to know if i can still add it in or if it will mess with stuff. So far i only edited some Maps, Changed some trainer sprites and implemented 2 scripts using AME, implemented gen 4 pokemon sprites using advance series and changed one pokemons type and movepool using HEX advance. Nothing else.

As far as I know, there shouldn't be an issue? Make a copy of your ROM and save it to your desktop, then put the PSS patch onto it and try loading the game. I find the crash often comes when you try to read the description of moves, so if you can do that just fine after you apply the patch, you should be alright.

There's now a physical/special split .HMA script in HMA. HMA scripts are kinda like patches but smarter because they find data on their own rather than at prewritten addresses. That means they won't overwrite your work like a patch could. Everyone should be using that HMA script to do the PSS from now on
