1st Gen Is it possible to trade Pokémon from Blue with anyone in the world?

    I play the Virtual Console version of Pokémon Blue. I would like to know if it's possible to trade with anyone in the world or if I have still to face to face with a friend to do it.
     
    Wireless connection meaning you have to be face to face, there is no wifi connection for the VC versions.

    I was wondering that myself. Guess they wanted to keep it so you have to be near the other person/console.

    It's probably because the 3ds has Wireless built in, eliminating the need for a link cable. With WiFi, you'd need to physicly add features to the game, which they didn't want to do with the VC.
