Hey, what's up! Jake here, and I have a question.
The Remakes of Gold and Silver came out on March 14th, 2010, and they were very successful ( From what I've heard ) So my question is, should I go pick a copy of one of them up? If so, should I get it used, so that it's cheaper, or should I get it all brand spankin' new and more expensive. I'm kind of in denial for not picking one of them up and now I really want them, thanks, Jake.

Mate, go get a copy. It doesn't matter which half you go for. Which ever is your favourite mascot of the two (Lugia and Ho-Oh) get the respective one, you won't regret it.

Thanks for the reply, I guess I could talk one of my parents to drive me to EB Games, hopefully. Thanks :)

Get HG new. Look around, some stores have them for up to $5 less.
(everybody I know got SS, so trends would tell me that where you live they did too.) :D

yup, Your right. Everyone where I live that actually plays Pokemon got Soul Silver, and I may get it too, not because of it's a trend, but because when I was a kid, I played Gold, so I never experienced Silver.
Also, I am heading out very soon, and I wanted to post this just before I did, I have my money with me, and my Dad was willing to take me, he's cool like that. I did have to do yard work, but hey, it's worth it. So, wish me luck! :)

It actually doesn't matter which one you choose... they don't have as many differences as they used to have back then.

The heck...? Go buh eet! They're both DEFIANTLY worth the forty bucks plus tax!

SUCCESS! I bought Soul Silver for 40Bucks at EBGames, I am very Happy! It also came with a thing called the PokeWalker, which I have heard little about, I guess you put your Pokemon on it and walk, and they level up?
I guess I will be going on a walk today then :P
Thanks for telling me they were worth buying, I may start playing it later, thanks!

It's also used to catch Pokemon which can come in handy depending where you are in the game.

Now that you have SoulSilver you need to get the Winner's Path for the Pokéwalker. It is a Wi-Fi event and instructions on how to download it can be found here. You need to be quick as the event ends on June 25.

    RE:

SUCCESS, you got the better of the two. ;]
Soul Silver's main legendary is a level 50 Lugia.
However, once you get to Kanto, you're able to get the rainbow feather or whatever, and you can travel back to the tower in whatever city.
Bell Tower? I think. Where you can get a level 70 Ho-oh, which is a lot better than Lugia. ;D

Not to mention, SoulSilver exclusively has LATIOS! Which is my favorite Pokemon.

    HeartGold has Latias. Pshh.

Thanks for that, although, unfortunately, I don't have Wi-Fi, and I'm not sure if it costs money or not, but It would be awesome to get that Winner's Path route, a Munchlax or Beldum would be awesome!

Well as much as I would like to say yes, it really depends on you. I love HG/SS and found it to be good for me, but some people didn't like it as they felt it was too much like the old one, and therefore boring. But you will find a very good amount of new details and features incorporated into the nostalgic design of Pokemon Gold/Silver. One of my favorite features was meeting Satoshi Tajiri in-game as an NPC. Although he never directly states his name, he makes it known that he is Satoshi and that he enjoyed making the game. If you are afraid of the lack of new features, let me give you a quick list:

    Details (dur)

2 New Routes and a new Safari Zone

    The Pokeathlon

    GTS

    Battle Arena thingy

    Crystal features

    Other minor things

From what I can tell about you, I think you should go for it. I had a great time and made some fun new memories with old friends! *insert nostalgia seizure here* Anyways, I hope you have a good time.

I would say to buy it used, i bought mine used and got the orginal case, and manual all i had to do really was delete the current save file. It gives many hours of gametime and although it does have bads, i think all the good outweighs the bad!

What I do if I'm stuck between two games, I go to Bulbapedia and check the differences between the games, mainly Pokemon. I got SS because I prefer the Pokemon in that game. And my brother got HG, so it all worked out.
I really hope you enjoy your game, because I'm in a scandalous love affair with mine♥

Wellllll he bought it so I guess the purpose of this thread (mind you next time please ask questions in the Help thread and check out the FAQ sticky we have too, has stuff like a Pokewalker guide ;p) has been served - so hence closed.
