Is Pokemon Anime Getting Bigger?

Hiya! Hooray for me making the first thread in this huge community, and it's a good time for me to make a new thread before I forget about it. But before I go ahead and make it, I want to introduce myself. I'm called DBKHD. I'm pretty experienced when it comes to message boards. Some of you already knew, but I'm also a member of Kanzenshuu forum, and have been there since 2009. In case you are wondering, Kanzenshuu is a huge Dragon Ball website that is running by VegettoEX. Nice to meet ya. :)

Ok, now that it's out of the way, I want to make a thread regarding the Pokémon anime. It's already known that Pokémon is massively popular and one of the biggest franchises for over 15 years. It started small, but became huge later on. As I have seen more and more hype created around Pokémon, especially Pokémon X & Y and the Origins, they went even further by hyping up the new movie and the Mewtwo TV special.

So, my question is, does it seem to you that the Pokémon is getting bigger? From my observation, it seems to me that they are going for the last push. It just seemed strange to me that they picked X and Y as the new versions. It doesn't help the fact that X and Y are close to the end of alphabetical order, and the next thing you know, they are going to slap Z as the enhanced version of the predecessors.

Well for one, we don't know what the XY(Z) theme actually is. The two main theories are maths and genetics. Maths seems plausible because X and Y are often used as the axis points of a geometric plane. Add axis Z and the plane becomes three-dimensional. The point where they all intersect is the Origin Point. See?

Genetics-wise, X and Y could refer to chromosomes. We also have the life cycle. Xerneas is the embodiment of growth and fertility while Yveltal is the embodiment of destruction and death. But what is life without death or death without life? To have one without the other would upset the balance, the natural order of things. Keeping the two in check is Zygarde, the order Pokémon. Hell, it could be everything rolled into one. Nothing is truly restricted to only one option.

But no theory I've come across has indicated an ending. No, all I've seen are beginnings. The first 3D-modelled handheld games. The first worldwide simultaneous release. Expanded utilization of global communications. The first true character customization options. A new type, a new region, a larger variety of Pokémon than ever before. Kalos feels much more like a fresh start than Unova did. It's all coming to life now. Now that there's so much more depth to the world and you feel more a part of it, the anime has to step it up. Previously, the anime was showing us what it was like to wander around and actually see the region and interact with our Pokémon. But we can do that ourselves now, so the anime needs to expand. Hopefully it will become something increasingly unique because of that.

Anyways... as I said somewhere else, Kalos is a new Hoenn. We are still at least missing new Sinnoh. So we at least should get one more season. The truly last season will be Johto 2 =)

To me, it seems like they're doing what they should have done in Best Wishes. At the end of DP, Ash was a really strong veteran trainer with a lot of Pokémon, and Nintendo and Gamefreak were trying their best to do a reboot of the games with Black and White. But BW and BW2, while having a lot of new features, just didn't do it. Same with the anime. They wanted to start fresh but Ash turned into a big baby with supporting characters who are a million times worse than Misty and Brock in the originals. It's like they weren't even trying anymore.

Let's just hope they do it right this time, in the Kalos region. So far I like what I'm seeing in the games and in the anime. I really hope they don't disappoint me again.
