Is this allowed? Requesting a review?

    I'm really sorry if this is the wrong section - I've been looking over the whole fanfic section for what I'm looking for.

    Is it possible to request a review (or rather thorough criticism) from someone? I am having some difficulty with my story - I need to hear from someone more experienced than I. Its not the plot or anything, really. It's just the writing style - I feel my style is too bland (I'm not the only one who thinks this). I do read, mostly other fanfics, as I'm just writing as a hobby. But could really use some input as to why my story has... little feeling. I honestly don't know what to do with it, and I feel if I tried to liven it up, people would see that I'm just trying too hard, because that's what it looks like to me when I read it over.

    I'm just posting really to ask if its possible to request reviews. I don't want to post the link to my story since I don't want it to seem as if I'm shamelessly advertising. That's not my intent.

    Again, apologies if this is not allowed on the forums or if its the wrong section. Theres nothing in the stickies about requesting reviews, so sorry if I made a mistake.
     
    That's because we don't take kindly to people asking for reviews, pardner.

    No, really it's because there's not a lot of active people here to review. Plus, I haven't yet figured out some way to make a thread where people can ask for reviews, and to have it so it doesn't get bogged down with people asking for reviews and no reviewers.

    I was, however, thinking of creating a "I'm willing to review. PM me!" thread, where people who are willing to review can post and then you can ask them.

    Right now, though, I'm busy at work and I have a lot of other things going on. Hopefully, before I completely forget about these things, I can have the threads posted. So you just kinda have to wait a bit for someone to review.

    I was thinking of reviewing your story. But, as I said, busy at work. Plus there's a story I really want to review for two friends, and I want to get that done before I do any other reviews.

    But yeah, sorry, Amoeba. Just wait and someone will review. And I'll leave this open for now so someone can just swing by and say that they'll review if someone does see this.
     
    Ah, ok, thanks for that information. :) I didn't know it wasn't allowed, now that I know I guess I'll just wait.

    Its all the shorter stories getting reviews just now. I guess some writers are in more need of advice than others. I wish I was good at reviewing to lighten the load a little, but I can never think of good advice, so I end up scrapping the reply.
     
    I'll do my best to review it later tonight, or tomorrow, but with finals coming up, I have a lot on my plate currently.
