It's a Kecleon frenzy!

In the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, Kecleon ran the shops in the main squares, where you could buy various items based on what they had. They would also show up on occasion in dungeons, and you would have the opportunity to shoplift from them and bring upon a swarm of them! That would let you try for a chance at actually recruiting them. But that was no laughing matter - not only were these Kecleon extremely strong, but they had the lowest catch rate possible, so you really had to give it your all to go for them!

What did you think about the Kecleon shops that were present in PMD? Did you like the selections they had and their dungeon appearances? Have you recruited Kecleon yourself? If so, how grueling was it? Discuss.

The better question to ask is whether or not Kecleon was really worth it to recruit in the first place. I've never tried myself, and normally that's because I'm not really inclined to do so when my chances of encountering a shiny Pokemon in the main games is higher than recruiting a Kecleon in MD. @_@;; Plus, definitely not fun when most things he has like 2HKOs you and stuff.

Though aside from that, I think their shops are really nice, so there's that!

Well, technically every Pokémon is worth hiring as long as they are your favorites. Unlike the core series, there are no IVs and EVs, the limitations for each stats are 999 too. So it's really up to the player. :)

I love those shops that with evolutionary items in their inventory.

Oh, I'm very well aware of that. Despite the fact that there are no IVs and EVs to worry about, stats still do exist, although there seems to be some degree of inconsistency of how stats are generally raised in PMD: EoS vs PMD: GTI because in EoS you can just visit Spinda's Cafe and jack your stats up with drinks which would make you more formidable in battle, but I feel ultimately it all depends on the Pokemon too!

...Perhaps that's just me thinking a bit too competitively, though...

My Roserade and Pachirisu from PMD 2 are insane, their stats are too high. Not bragging hahaha, point is I think it all depends if the player is willing to invest a lot of time with the game. {XD} As said, it's really possible to creat 999 in every stat for every Pokémon.

The IQ abilities on the other hand, is a different story though.

Now imagine Kecleon with Protean in PMD. >:)

I actually recruited Kecleon twice throughout my time playing my Blue Rescue Team, and just got it in my Red Rescue Team today. And to make it even more hardcore (well not necessarily), I recruited it in Western Cave (the really long dungeon where you find Mewtwo) after over 70 floors. That was pretty cool. B)

When I'm Russian through a dungeon and I accidentally steal an item and get killed when I made far progress....is not fun at all lol. But the items are convenient to have and shouldn't be too hard to buy since I mostly find Top Kekleon in a dungeon with lots of money.

The dungeon shop are pretty convenient when in need for apples or healing items so before proceeding to the next floor, always ensure you check the current floor for Kelceon shop for grabs and enough pokebucks to buy things you need. Ironically, you placed an item, save and take the item back and the kelceon treated that item as shoplifted and attacking the player and their team. The Kelceon have a tremendous stats and it can quickly kill you as a punishment for lacking of pokebucks or glichtness.
