4th Gen I've got a problem...

I've had Diamond for years... But I've never so much as put it in my DS. Why? The starters.

I always start with the fire-type (except, of course, in Yellow), and I want to keep it that way. But the fire-type choice in D&P, as you all know, is Chimchar.

I HATE CHIMCHAR! Why? Well, in real life, I hate all haplorrhines. Hate 'em. I generally love animals, but I make an exception for haplorrhines. (Note that I don't wish them any actual harm; I just find them incredibly irritating).

What the heck am I supposed to do? I don't really expect a real answer, I just needed to complain. I've already considered catching a fire-type at the first opportunity and raising it instead, but there aren't any satisfactory ones early in the game.

I don't really like pigs, either, so it looks like I'm gonna have this problem in Generation V, too...

Either get another fire type through trade or get Chimchar and shove it in your PC as soon as possible. :/

If you don't want to do that then I say suck it up and pick Chimchar. It's not a bad pokemon just try to think of it more as a human/monkey hybrid instead.

Humans are haplorrhines too... and they're the worst ones.

You made an entire thread to announce the fact that you hate Chimchar and therefore can't play Diamond? That's...special. Just use one of the other Starters, then. :|

Quickest and easiest way - Get one of those action replays or R4 chips and hack so you start or obtain another fire poke at the start.

Well, you've been given the options.
Don't use it and use another starter, or trade a fire starter from a previous generation of Pokemon.
Or, you can trade in another fire Pokemon.
