Hmm...I don't know about that. You could check to see if they are available in YouTube. I just watched them from a animecon I went last weekend. It wasn't on YouTube though.

I've checked its not there.

After it gets popular, everyone likes it ._. and there doesn't seem to be any fun in liking it anymore.. ._.
I agree. I think anime is only fun obsessing over when you're trying to be obsessed cuz no one else is.

Neh~ I think I tend to like more Anime that's not mainstream~

Does anyone else feel the same way?
Like mistywishmaker said, I love obsessing over anime when no one else does.

But then I try my bestest to get everone else obsessed with it, but no one ever really is more obsessed than me.

And I tend to shy away from the anime that my mates suggest cause, well they are the people who suggested Naruto.

But I've been obsessing over manga lately - there's alot more non-mainstream manga then there is anime.

Fans sometimes put me off from watching shows, but if it's something I really like, I'll watch it either way. It was like that with Bleach, but that crowd of fans was at least ten times worse than the Narutards, and that's saying something.

But I've been obsessing over manga lately - there's alot more non-mainstream manga then there is anime.
Same - I've read more manga than I've watched anime for nearly two years now. There really isn't anything good on TV these days, this season there's only Death Note, Jigoku Soujo 2, Buso Rinkin and Galaxy Railways 2 that I wanna watch, years ago it would have been at least three times that. But anime's really been going down in the past few years.

Nice Comment about how anime has gone "down hill" over the years

Question: Here's an interesting question. There's no way of denying it, but the general level of quality anime seems to have dropped over the last year. Western distributers are plugging a lot of re-releases of existing material, and quite a lot of the new aquisitions that can honestly be called high quality (Barefoot Gen, Gundam Seed, Samurai 7) are either classics that were produced almost a decade ago, or remakes of other classics.
In part, I think that this is mostly due to something of a lack of truly noteworthy anime that's being produced. At the moment, Naruto wins a lot of fans over here, as does Bleach, and I'm enjoying Monster. But there doesn't seem to be much in the way of the 'big classic' series that we all know and love (Cowboy Bebop, Kenshin, Witch Hunter Robin, and even the much overhyped Evangelion).
What are your thoughts? Are we presently in the middle of merely a dry spell, waiting for a new 'big thing' to re-infuse the industry with some real creative spirit? Or could the animation mileau have finally hit the point where there's no good stories left to tell?

Answer: Hold on just a second there. I'm pretty sure there is a way to deny that the general quality of anime has dropped over the years; in fact, I'll deny it right now!

I became an anime fan back in the mid-late 90's when shows like Fushigi Yuugi and Escaflowne and Cowboy Bebop and Evangelion were all the rage, and as the years have worn on, all of those series have become "classics", shows most people look back on as great examples of what anime can be.

Problem was, back then we only got the good stuff. Now we get everything, and to make matters more complicated, they're producing more anime than ever before.

Think about it this way; it's as if in previous years the only American shows Japan got were Lost, Battlestar Galactica and The Sopranos. They'd probably think that American TV is all very high-quality and that these instant classics are what to expect from them in the future. As years went on, more and more was being imported, so now they were getting Lost, Battlestar Galactica, The Sopranos... and also Dancing with the Stars and Two and a Half Men. It isn't that the programming got worse or that the new shows were all terrible and that no more classics were being produced, it's that now they're seeing everything, and like most things, 90 percent of it is crap.

I can point to at least 2 or 3 recent shows - like Fullmetal Alchemist, Gankutsuou, and even Beck - that are all at least as good as the stuff we were getting back in the day. There was never a golden age where the majority of anime being produced was instant-classic material; it's just that we're being exposed to more and more of it, especially with fansubs. So take heart - we're not in a "dry spell", you just need to be careful with what you watch.
In my opinion, I think this guy is almost spot on.

Anywho, discuss.

I...really don't like that ANN article writers, those guys are just bad.

That guy's talking about the American market though, the Japanese market it really different. It has always held a lot of anime, and back in the 90's, a lot of that anime was better. Sure we have rare finds like FMA, Blood+ and XXXHolic, but other than the rare finds, most of what's out there is crap. Most anime have long since forgotten how to tell a good story in favor of showing off angsty bishoujo and bishounen spewing pretentious and pseudo-intelligent BS.

I strongly disagree with that article, anime is in a dry spell and has been for some time. It used to be that at least every three out of five anime were great, now it's more like every one out of five. When there are good shows, they get shoved aside. I don't see how something as great as Galaxy Railway or Jigoku Shoujo can go relatively unnoticed while shows like Naruto and Haruhi(the single most overrated anime ever) get enormous amount of fans. I do believe that at least 90% of the time, fans are at fault for making such horrible dribble so popular. Now I'm not saying that every anime has to be groundbreaking or that every anime fan has to like what I like, but half of the time they won't even give the really great shows a try.

Right now, the only show that I can think of that gets a lot of fans and is actually good is Keroro Gunsou. Of all the anime airing in Japan right now, I consider it to be the very best. It has the best humor in any anime I have ever seen and the characters are all great. The cast is so natural and when the show gets over the top(pretty damn often) it does in a good way. Most anime these days do over the top in anime cliche style, Keroro Gunsou can do over the top humor and do it in an original manner, which will probably lead to a lot of shows basically ripping it off.

Again, I strongly disagree about the golden age, a lot of people consider 1988-2000 to be the real golden age of anime. The majority of the anime during that period was great, not all of it was ground breaking, but they at least seemed original and tried to do their own thing. Take Gundam for example, back then you had some of the most original series that had good, moving storys, strong characters and great excitement. That's not really there in the current Gundam shows. SEED really lost it and was the single most boring Gundam I have ever seen, on the other side though, its sequel, Gundam SEED Destiny, is what I consider to be one of my favorite Gundam series ever, until those last ten or so episodes.

For me at least, there was never a problem of "just now seeing everything", I've always known what was out there. So far I've been around anime my entire life and I've seen my fair share of things, so in my opinion I can say that there was a golden age and that anime is in a dry spell right now. Partly because studios can make generic stuff and partly because the fans will eat it all up. Hell, the teeny bopper fans right now are ten times more annoying than the Gundam Wing fans ever were. The Narutards and Blech Heads are basically a black spot on the fandom that needs to grow some brains and realize that even though they love these shows, they can do wrong. I'll admit that a lot of my favorite shows aren't groundbreaking, but unlike most people I've met, I can actually admit that. Most fans won't admit that their favorite shows are anything less than perfect. Though I am kind of glad to see that it's starting to show in the Japanese ratings. I just wish it could have happened sooner.

Um...this Daily Chit Chat is meant for Japanese shows and such...that comment is quite off topic. Many places have a Daily Chit dedicated to their section. Other such comment belong in the Chit-Chat forum in Other Chat.

So, anyone see the new Digimon Savers opening? XD
Wada Kouji sings another song for digimon along with the appearence of the Royal Knights
awesomeness

I saw it [of course] and loved it [of course] a lot more than the first opening. It really feels like a true Digimon season with him doing the music and I can't wait to see how they deal with the Royals.
