Uh, I don't think nothing will ever replace IS as a generic harem series. It practically put all the tropes in one anime. Really, it's just generic. I'm not saying it's horrible though.
 
I meant i wonder what will replace it on my watching list. ;)

Generic harems, Moe and mindless fightin' will always be there. Reason?...people get home from a depressing day at work and want to be cheered up. They also don't want to think so said genres are perfect.
 
I've watched very little sports England so I might watch the tennis one, Dog Days has a dull sounding story but incredible voice talent and Hoshizora....wow... it has a guy moving to a town in the country only to accidentally trip and kiss someone, that's too perfect a plot for this conversation.

In the near future, a Japanese scientist engineers a powered exoskeleton called "Infinite Stratos" (IS). Possessing technology and combat capabilities far more advanced than any other weapon system, the IS threatens to destabilize the world. Faced with such an overpowering weapon, the nations of the world enact the "Alaska Treaty", which states that IS will never be used for military combat and that existing IS technology must be equally distributed to all nations, to prevent any one nation from dominating the others. The introduction of the IS does however have a major effect on society. As IS can only be operated by women, the power balance between men and women is broken, with women coming to dominate society over men.

Such a promising premise (even if I find the idea of ass-backwards rogue states like North Korea, Myanmar, Iran, Libya, and Zimbabwe having military parity with the G8 nations offensive beyond all measuring), and instead of doing something truly meaningful with it, they took the lazy way out and just made it into the most generic harem series ever. It never even occured to them to institute the Tenchi Solution, either.
 
I started watching Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari, a spin-off of the original Tenchi Muyo franchise.

It's going "smoothly" until now. Although it depicts your typical harem plus mecha anime concept with hints of romance, it is still a really enjoyable show, certainly one of the best spin-offs for an anime.

Anybody tried it?
 
I haven't, it looks pretty ok though.

I also haven't seenm Strike Witches yet, flying loli's flashing their underwear whilst fighting things sounds an.....amusing concept.

Agreed, kinda. England>Germany>France>Sister>Red headed girl>Boob sensei>Japan>China imo.

And i've just started Maria†Holic, the first two episodes weren't amazing but i loved the third. Really hope it's as good as I expect it will be.
 
Finished up Onii-chan no Koto nanka Zezen Suki Janain Dakara ne!! recently. God, its a long name for a short series :x

Pretty funny tho, not a normal romance/ecchi/harem that I've seen.

 
Crap character design for a show with crap content, maybe?

Onii-chan knows that it's the bottom of the trash bin in terms of anime content. Instead of trying to redeem itself in any feasible way, it just rolls with it and acknowledges that it's indeed a piece of crap. And it turned out extremely hilarious because of it. It's nothing too memorable, but it gave me many a good laugh this Winter season.
 
I did try the series but it was just like a worse KissxSis or something. The sister wasn't crazy enough in that. this on the other hand is superior. I bet you wouldn't believe it's published alongside the likes of Kodomo no Jikan and Chu Bra
 
I'll read anything with a crazy yandere so that was pretty fun.

I honestly went into that series looking for a few laughs, ended up getting a very decent cumming of age story.

You could try this. The content is mostly different but the tones are very much the same. It also goes from random hilarious to full blown drama in a heartbeat. I've both read and watched it and can't praise it enough.
