Japanese DCC

Even still, it isn't. There are a lot of anime that came before that, anime that have clear records. Without going into 'what ifs' I think an anime called 'Gengi the Frog Boy' is the oldest, not sure though.

Wich do you all prefer? Manga books or animated Anime/movies/series/ect?

I personally prefer anime. I love watching it... but I love reading too...
Anyway, what do you all think of Ghost In The Shell? I personally dislike it.

I like manga better myself, aside from music, even that isn't great these days, it beats anime in every area for me.

Ghost In The Shell...I liked the two movies. The series is rather boring actually, I never really liked it. The story never went anywhere and the characters, I just didn't like them.

I prefer manga because I can read it anytime, anywhere. It's a lot more convenient...especially for people like me who are too lazy to make specific time for anime. o_O;

Ghost in the Shell...well, it's not worth downloading for me, nor is it worth staying up late to watch. So I don't much care for it. XP The series, that is. Have yet to see the movies.

I like anime and manga. But sometimes I think I would like the manga better than the anime. Still though, the anime is worth checking out.

Does anyone know the Sailor Moon manga is a little better than the anime?...I am just saying. I love the anime and manga to death, but I am just wondering.

I've read some of the Sailor Moon manga. It is very good. I suppose it would be better than the anime in some ways.
I think Sailor Venus got a bigger role in the manga. So Sailor Venus fans would probably like the manga more than the anime.

I'm very thankful that some people dislike or thought the series of Ghost In The Shell was boring. Like, what is the storyline of Ghost In The Shell? o_O
I tried watching a few episodes but I couldn't see anything about it that was worth watching.

This thread doesn't get too many post..

For me..it doesn't really matter, I just read or watch the show/movie by the true creator.

Example (Neon Anime was first and created by Anno so I'd Choose the Anime instead of the Manga)

Mm, I get your point, Maya, but the manga series of Evangelion is VERY good.
Volume 9 of the manga is better than episode 22 of the anime.

I haven't read that far into the manga....I have up to volume 7.
Is it true in the next volume Shinji and Rei grow up?

Speaking of old anime, has anyone been watching Gigantor on [as]? It was visionary for its time, of this I'm convinced...

Oh yes it's NGE night, and the feelin's right...

Try watching the movie if you can ever find it. It's a live action movie, but it was pretty good and Gigantor himself came out looking really good.

If I can find it, I'll give it a try.......I happen to like the old Japanese live action movies, anyway...I watched the Godzilla marathon on Sci Fi on and off yesterday x_x;

Okay, so I just read the first volume of Bleach, and don't kill me, but I wasn't impressed...is it just going to be Ichigo fighting a slightly different hollow with a slightly different plot twist each chapter? Because that's the signal it's giving me right now...I just don't want to invest more time in something that's going nowhere is all <_<;

Actually that movie's new, it came out just two years ago.

Bleach gets a lot better, it suffers from an ungodly long middle arc, but it's still really good. The art is different, the story does get a lot better, it's not just Ichigo fighting hollows as they're going to get pushed out of the story around volume 5/6

1000+ pages of hollow-battling, then the long middle arc you mentioned...I'm not sure I can take that o_O; But if you say the story gets better I have noting to lose by ordering more issues from the library. That is, if I don't think of some other manga to get into before then <_<; The art seems pretty standard to me, I didn't see it as very different if at all different.

skip straight to the volume then XD you really only have to see the hollow previous to that arc to get something they talk about, but even that's kinda irrelivant

anyways, it's Christmas (Eve) and that means SEED DESTINY Final Plus Special
and a bunch of Christmas themed CDs XD

I finally have the Neon Genesis Evangelion collection~ ^-^
And now I have a great interest in Rurouni Kenshin...

Speaking of RK, I'm going to kill my library, because I've been at the top of the waiting list for months on the next edition of the manga and apparently it's been lost or stolen, so I've lost my last resource for knowing what happens =/

There was only one of them?

IYO what do you think of the anime influced Boondocks?

Yes, only one in the entire region x_x;

I wouldn't consider the Boondocks anime or even anime-influenced because of the fact that since we're so deprived of American animation that isn't complete crap, anything that's done in a superior style is automatically called anime.

As for what I think of it; I don't like it as it's stereotypical......and I can't say I was ever a fan of Aaron Magruder's comic strip anyway.

Gah......I'm so mad at ebay, even though this isn't their fault. I wanted to get a set of NGE figures with my Christmas money, but all they seem to have are Rei and Asuka in fantasy clothes and sex positions; basically the deluxe pedophile collection. They don't have anything that seriously represents the characters as they are on the show =/ I suppose I'll just buy the six-pack of s-CRY-ed figures instead.
