I love this. It's interesting, it's shaded wonderfully, and it's put together very well. It all fits perfectly in the nice little box... it blends in with the background just enough, yet still stands out enough to not get lost in it. All the different styles of shading you did worked together perfectly. The background, the shell, the body.. it adds some depth to it. The palette you chose works perfectly this as well. The red lines are soft, but distinct. The shade of red is
just pink and desaturated enough, and compliments the orange and yellow well. The yellow highlights having a slight green tint also makes them stand out more.. it's one of the many nice little touches that made me choose you as the winner.
The only little problem I can find is that gap between the yellow around the shell and the inner border, those 3 orange pixels sorta blend in and throw off the smoothness, but... other than that... very, very well done.

This is great. The perspective, the complexity, the animation.
You just love excuses to not shade things, don't you? ;D j/k, it works. The only thing that I notice is that little dark spot on the top outline. Sorta gives it a rough edge right there. Still, well done.
I just couldn't choose between these two.

First off, excellent colour choices. The shading is fabulous. I'm not sure what to say, there isn't really anything wrong with it, it's just not very detailed on the right side. I understand that it shifts focus to the character, but... a
little bit of detail could've been nice.

If I hadn't made the thread, I never would've noticed that this only used 4 colours. Expertly shaded, great palette, detailed... it's nearly perfect. Also, good job following the theme and focusing on the character. :3
Note: the following are not necessarily in order. They are vaguely placed: those near the top are placed better than those at the bottom. For example, the 3rd is not necessarily better than the 4th, but probably better than, say, the 8th.

I really like the perspective of this. A bit confusing if you don't know what you're looking at, but once I realized it was a person and her hair.. yeah. XD
I really like the palette, as well as the background. Complex, but subtle enough to not shift focus too badly. The hair.. well, being the most important part, I really would've liked for it to be smoother. You have too many straight lines in the curls, which gives them an odd look. Some of the shading is a little... confusing, as well.

The moon is well done, but... the palette you used on this bugs me. Particularly the shift between the light, warm gray and the cool, dark gray. It's like- you made it to work with the moon, and then just used it for the rest. The contest theme was to design a character, and the shading on your character has a big jump between those two shades of gray, which doesn't make sense with the soft light source a full moon would provide. The shading on the hills is a little rough, too. The rabbit alien... is kinda shaped weird, but I suppose that could be because of the "alien" thing. XD
