It's seems everybody is giving feedback on PC because of a certain blog, so I have decide to do one as well.
Let's start of with organization and design a.k.a. the layout of PC. Although PC is pretty big, the design is somewhat good. You have your most important sections at the top that include important announcements as well as problems that arise within the community. Some sections, in my opinion, could be renamed. For example, when I first joined, I looked into Pokemon Trivia first, thinking it will be quizzes about Pokemon. But to my surprise (and somewhat to my disappointment) it had nothing to do with quizzes. Instead it was games. I'm sure other users have done this as well (there is actually one that I know of, whom was expressing this in the IRC chat), so I believe it would be somewhat useful to rename Pokemon Trivia and Other Trivia to Pokemon Forum Games and Other Forum Games to help halt this confusion. Anyway, the various style that you can choose to customize your experience here are stunning. I believe the "look" of PC deserves an 8.5/10.
First brought up by Alternative in his feedback thread, and then revisited by Meganium90 in hers, is the Welcoming Committee. Now I'll admit one thing. When I first joined PC, I didn't think I would be as active as I am, so I didn't bother making a thread that would welcomed me to the forum. I wish I did, because that could've jumpstarted me making friends here. I know PC's New User section isn't probably as active as Serebii's, but I believe one of the reasons behind this is that at said mentioned site, they use the "Copy and Paste" method, where they would just copy and paste the same message over and over in different welcome threads. We don't do that here, because as said in the New User / Welcome Guidelines, it's rude and if you're taking the time to welcome a user into the community, then take a little bit more time to personalize the message. However, this is probably not the reason or if it was, then probably not the main one. I do understand that the current users that do welcome potential PC Regulars into our nice community do a nice job, but I feel we could use a little more people. Therefore I am giving this a 4/10. You can do better than this, PokeCommunity.
Okay, onto the Staff at PC. PC has some amazing people on the higher staff that run this place. There are some awesome mods out there as well (BinaryPeaches, Miss Doronjo, Sydian, Forever, and Captain Fabio just to name a few). I know that some mods already do this, but I believe they could reach out more to regulars of the section(s) they moderate, or if possible, members that don't even visit their sections at all. They could hold social events aside from the IRC chat and the Get Togethers so that they can talk to members, so that the members can feel more comfortable when interacting with them (I know, cause I am partially like this). PC has a ton of members that help keep PokeCommunity alive, but it's the staff that keeps the forum running smoothly and efficiently, and for this, I thank you. I believe you all deserve a 9.3/10.
My experiance in the community has been great since I became active way back in June/July 2010 and I have met some good people who have become truly great friends. I look forward everday to hop on my computer and just browse PC whenever I get home from school or other places. Sure, sometimes drama unfolds, but sometimes it makes PC even more fun. Overall, I think PC deserves a nice 8.8 out of 10. It's not the best, but we can always improve; and it's not the worst, which in itself, should make you glad to be a part of this wonderful forum community.
I look forward to being a part of PC in the future, and I shall be for the next couple of years.
