Just a quick Question

If you use an attack, like Encore, to make a pokemon use only one attack you choose. Can they do an attack, like T-tar Prime's Power Claw, that will overlook the affect of Encore?
EX:
My turn) Whimsicott - Encore to Tyranitar, and choose Darkness Howl.
Their turn) Tyranitar - Power claw?

I do not think Tyranitar can use Power Claw on their turn while Encore is in effect, but I will check with a professor.

EDIT: Tyranitar cannot use Power Claw. This has been confirmed.

Ah. So Tyranitar's Power Claw will not work if the effects of an attack affect him, but will work if the effects of an attack affect the pokemon it's attacking?

It cannot ignore any effects on Tyranitar itself, which is what Encore does: places an effect on the Defending Pokemon, in this case, Tyranitar.

Power Claw only ignores effects on the Defending Pokemon, in this case Whimsicott. Encore places no effects on Whimsicott, so there are no effects for Power Claw to ignore.
