Jynk's gone bad

    Um why did people say Jynk's is a racio stereio type? How could that even had happened? And they banned that from America, because Jynks appeared in episode, I believe it wuz 245 or 246. Well you know somewhere around there. If she was a raceio sterio type, the what did she do to become one, in the show.
     
    Her skin color was originally black. People thought that it would be offensive and now everytime you see Jynx, it'll have purple skin. Yes, even in the games. Then again, it doesn't appear much anyway.

    Okay so thats why I kinda remember Jynks being a different color lol. Aw May and Dawn look soooo cute lol.
     
    Some strane woman claimed that they were a racial stereotype, even though they are actually thought to be based on the japanese fanshion of Ganguro, IIRC.

    Yes, the irony of mothers calling something racist while showing a complete disregard for another culture. >>; Jynx is most definitely not blackface.

    Unless we see a Jynx standing on its head and whistling 'Dixie' at some point, of course.
     
    Wow I'm black and the thought never crossed my mind why jynx's color was changed. People take racism to a whole different level.

    It's because isn't as strong today as it was 60 years ago. Of course you wouldn't realy notice it because it doesn't happen that much these days.

    that's what I thought but pokemon didn't come out 60 years ago so why would someone take it too this extreme?

    There are some people that would take these things to the extreme. One example would be that Gellar guy who sued Nintendo because of Kadabra looked like it was based off of him. This isn't racism but it shows that people are willing to go that far.

    A few years ago, someone made a thread in the DP games section saying that their mum phoned up Nintendo to complain that Team Galectic wanted to blow up pixel town. I still remember it to this day because it was so funny.

    Exactually I'm balck too but just because Jynks skin color looked black doesn't mean that was racist.Your pretty much right people take it to a whole different level now a days I guess.

    Well I guess that the chick who got offended just doesn't care anymore (since she never wrote anything about it since that time), But if she didn't say something someone else will and Jynx will still changed.

    Yeah but the episode was banned I just didn't get that at first. It was weird because it said they banned it because she was a raceio sterio type. And she Jynk ain't did nothing to anyone. But she was put out because of the skin.

    Lets say what if that was the best episode ever? Will they still had cut it out because, Jynks skin color looked black?

    Jynx also had questionable situations with Takeshi IIRC. The only way I can see this episode airing again is if they went back to this episode and changed her skin color. But they won't do that because it's so old and certainly not their highest rating episode ever.
     
    That stereo type was that she had big pink lips on a black face and was overweight. I found that offensive as an African American too. I like her better purple anyway.
