This is a battle where we both had brand new teams, and was my first battle after KingTs Blissey swept my old team. Here's how it went:

HellBladers Forretress bounces out of its pokeball to face...
my Jirachi!who begins with a wave of thunder,(t-wave) rendering its foe slower than it already was!
Forretress used Stealth Rock, laying down a trap that could easily rip apart a bird's feathers.harsh.

    So far so good

Jirachi copys the foe, also using Stealth Rock. Well, it jhas been said "fight rocks with more rocks!"
    Forretress used Spikes.
Spikes were scattered everywhere! That's realy gonna hurt anybody with feet!

    Eek!

Jirachi is focusing its Psychic powers with a cool calmness of the mind. (calm mind)

Forretress is throwing moree spikes around!
    Uh oh

both pokemon continue to do the same as last turn!

Great, he hasnt forced me to switch.

Jirachi continues to focus its mind!
Oh no!Forretress has spun away all those traps around him, hurting Jirachi in the process!

    Oh crap

    Jirachi focuses its power again.

Hellbladers Hariyama's having a go now!

Great, now something that might hurt Jirachi

i switched in a Gengar! The rocks tear into him!
Hariyama blows away Gengar (whirlwind),for kiddos Suicune, who is also hurt by the spikes and rocks.

Suicune has lost a lot of health just by joinig the battle!
Not to worry, that apple core will help!

    Crippled, s*#!

Suicune has surfed over Hariyama,(surf), inflicting quite a bit of damage!Hariyama's blown him away to bring back Nightfright the Gengar again! Those rocks cant be doing him any good!

    Crap.
Nightfright has sent a ball of deadly shadows (shadow ball) at Hariyama, who is almost collapsing now!Hes not down yet though, and switches in Dragonite, who is hurt by those rocks!

    Big mistake mate, big mistake.

Dragonite has gone on an Outrageous rampage,(outrage),crushing Hariyama!

    Finally that thing is dead.

Hellbladers Weavile has entered the fray, putting that much pressure on Dragonite that he is too scared to switch!
Weavile's dancing with swords now!that'll give him more power! (swords dance)
    The Almighty used Outrage!
Weavile just hung on there, using his sash to focus his mind on staying conscious!Dragonite's apple core helps him recover in the meantime.

Crap, i can see whats coming next.
Weavile's punched Dragonite with a fist of ice (ice punch), knocking him out cold!

    Doh!

Gengar's back in again, and Weavile simply cannot beat the speed of the thunderbolt launched by Gengar, and is sent down into faintedness!

    Yes!

its Forretress vs. Jirachi again!Forretress is incapable of moving though!

    Wooo!Thunder Wave!!!

Hellbladers Milotic is out now, Jirachi has layed down some more sharp rocks!
    Milotic has got a burn!
Dunno how that happened, but its god as far as im concerned.

Jirachi used Stealth Rock again, but it didnt work twice!
    But it failed!
Milotic used Hydro Pump, weakening Jirachi with the deadly power of water!
That burn is still hurting though!

Oops, well now i know it doesnt work twice.

Jirachi's thunder wave hasnt worked either!Milotic's Hydro Pump has KO'd Jirachi!

No!I didnt get to use wish!

Gengar hasd got hurt by them rocks yet again!

his Thunderbolt hasnt been venough to KO Forretress, who has just got switched in!
Oh, i could have KO'd Milotic

Gengar;'s Thunderbolt did better this time!

    Woop!

Hellblader has sent out Porygonz, who has downloaded better stats!
Spiritomb has been sent out by me now, and is unaffected by porygon's Psychic!

    Wahey!

Hellblader has sent in his Milotic, who is unaffected ny Spiritombs Toxic!

    Crap

Orb of darkness suckered it into jumping forwward and punched it twice as hard! (sucker punch)
But Milotic hydro pumped Spiritomb into deep, watery pain. 9hydro pump)

    Ulp....

Milotic stopped attackimng and recovered some energy.(recover) Before it was taken away by Orb of Darkness, who split the pain and recovered himself!(pain split)

    Ha!

Miltic tried again and spiritomb split the pain again!

    Double Ha!

Milotic used Recover, but then Orb of Darkness made a substitute of himself, so he couldnt be harmed!

    Hydro Pump this!

Milotic used Hydro Pump!Spiritomb split the pain again, but lost his substitute to hydro pump.

    Errr...i didnt mean it literally...err....

Orb of Darkness sucker punched Milotic agan, who retaliated with another hydro pump, neither able to KO the other, but milotics mysterious burn finally bettered it and it fainted, whilst Spiritomb munched happily on an apple core.

    Finally

Hellbladers porygonz returned, and thunderbolted orb of darkness into a state of unconsciousness1

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

i switched in Gengar, who finished porygonz off with a blasyt of focused power!(focus blast)

    Revenge IS sweet

    HellBlader switched in Miltank (mooooo!)
    Pointed stones hurt Miltank!
    Nightfrights focus blast missed!

    Crud

Miltanks seismic toss didnt affect nightfright, whos focus blast this time DID hit, only to be weakened by the cow's chople berry.

Curse You Chople Berry!!!Oh well, lets piss him around.

I switched in Latias, whgo got crippled by the sharp rocks, and then again by a weak seismic toss from the pink cow.

    Heehee...This'll confuse him...

I got my Latias to roost, and she recovered all her health with the rest, but then Miltank released a wave of thunder and paralyzed her!

Big wow, you have 1 poke, i have 3.

The moomoo cow used the seismic toss again, but it didnt really matter, coz my Latias used Earthquake!!!but it didnt do much

    THAT didnt go well

I switched in my paralyzed Suicune, which got hurt by those sharp rocks, and then again by the spikes! The cow milked itself and recovered a bit!

    ...Moomoo milk...

That cow used thunder wave, and paralyzed Suicune, who couldnt move!

    Grrrr...

The cow used seismic toss, and suicune replied with a surfing wave!

    all hail STAB

the cow milked itself, only to be hit by another wave!

    Hehehe...

    Miltank used Seismic Toss.
    Suicune couldnt move!

    Grrr...

Miltank seismic tossed Suicune to fainting!

You'll pay for that you stupid cow!grrr....

i switched in nightfright again, who got hurt by those rocks for about the fiftieth time...got paralyzed by thunder wave and couldnt move!

This might actually end up close

the miltanks seismic toss didnt affect Nightfright, who responded with an all-collapsing Focus Blast!

    Yes!I won!The team worked!
I hope you liked my log, if not p,m me and say why.

OMG. I'm sorry, but the text hurts my eyes to begin with, and not to mention the dullness of it all is really...dull.

See the thread created by Beachboy, it'll show you how you can improve.

Hey Beachy, may I suggest you make Battle Logs Moderated? By that I mean you make it so that you need to 'ok' them before they are let through onto the forums, so that only the properly presented ones are shown.

    Regards,

    ~T_S

P.S. btw, what is your Jirachi running? After 3 CM's, a decent Thunderbolt should be able to fell a pokemon with 60 Base Sp. Def... And yes, Gofre is right in your first turn, it makes no sense... o.0

I'm sorry, but I stopped reading after you used thunderwave on one of the most common gyro ball uses ever :|

    BeachBoy Battle Log Review

First off, I know many players are going to comment and say some... rough stuff. Putting the entire battle aside for a moment, I want to thank you for attempting to turn the plain, dull battle log into more of a story. Easy to see you at least put some effort into it. :D

As for the battle, I hope you learned a lot from it. (Which is what battling is all about!) Your grammar was... poor. How about you use Word to proofread your spelling and such, or PM a member here at PC to proofread it for you. Some parts of the it were difficult to follow and some turns had to scroll back to read it over multiple times.

→ Stealth Rock isn't Spikes, Spikes can apply multiple layers, Stealth Rock only needs one turn. Seems like you learned that during the match.

→ Post a battle log where you and your opponent do well
Honestly, both of you made some new player mistakes. For your opponent, I'm referring to the constant seismic tosses on gengar. Battling 1.0.1 (Types) Normal doesn't affect Ghost. However, his Miltank may have just had seismic toss for an attacking move. As for your Weavile deal, I suggest you find some room on the team for some other priority moves other then sucker punch.

→ Thunder wave or Body slam
For Jirachi, I like to abuse it's ability for the 60% Body Slam, useful for ground types such as Garchomp that switch in. :D

→ Give more of an introduction, and also provide a review.
The one or two sentences is meh, fully examine what happened before the match, and give an analysis afterwards. Also, post your team in sprites, so we know your team in advance.

    → Font
I didn't find this font that easy to follow, maybe it's just me being so used to Tahoma, but the default is really the best choice, as we're all used to it. All in all, that font is terrible in my opinion. =/

    → Battle log selection
Wasn't a good battle to be completely honest... Try and find a better battle to post in the future, with less mistakes and one were much better decision making is made.

    → Learn from your battles
You many numerous mistakes, but hope you improve.

Also, might want to read the new sticky for help on your future battle logs. :D

I'm sorry kiddo, I know you've gotten better, but I found many flaws with your Jirachi usage:

*Jirachi doesn't have Stealth Rock on it, ever. Unless you want it to be a wall (which it is not)
*You CM'd 3-4 turns and then switched out? Tbolt/Psychic would've done wonders against Foretress

I also noticed you Twaved Forretress. Just to let you know; Gyro Ball gets a free power up when Forry is paralyzed. Considering how slow Forry is, being paralyzed is a gift from god so to speak.

You're opponent didn't seem too good either; Psychic on PZ? Flame Orb on Milotic? Even though a SpD boost might seem appealing, it's not worth it in the long run.

Pressure also doesn't make you unable to switch, it just forces you to use 2PP per turn, but you probably did that for dramatic purposes.

Off Topic: I'd like to fight you once more :D

Quick jump in for a moment on the topic of Jirachi.

Jirachi does absolutely fine as a support/wall. SR/Twave is support for your team, right Kiddo?
The problem with your set is you merged two of them, Jirachi should not calm mind as a wall, it should wish for that role. :D

Actually, many Jirachi have SR on them. I use SR with mine all the time, it's a 600 BST Pocket Monster with a heck amount of good resistances, and two weaknesses, that sounds like a fine wall to me. However, as KingT mentioned, your giving Jirachi an overload. Basically, pick a side when selecting the set for Jirachi in this case.

You either want the full CM set, or the full support set. Merging both really isn't the best option for such a wonderful Pocket Monster.

Just my two cents on Jirachi~

Also, on your next battle log, give more commentary as to what your thinking, "doh!" doesn't really help us see where your going or how your planing to execute your strategy.

You're right on the Jirachi using Stealth Rock, but once I saw CM and Twave I got a little disappointed.

CM is used to creating a sweeping, CMing Jirachi. Not a wall.

I know what you meant, KingT. I was just adding on to that. :D

Based on his Jirachi throughout the battle, it looks like he wanted the support/wall lead. Maybe just messed up on selecting which set and got both? The set as the lead should be (or I suggest) SR/Zen Headbutt/Body Slam/Wish. I think that Jirachi fits his team overall better.

Basic rules to sweeping, Kiddo, you don't lead with your stat upper. Your opponent has all their walls to prepare for it, thus sweeping early game like that is redundant in my eyes. You need to pave the way for a sweeper like CM-Rachi. Well, that's just my opinion anyway.

Another quick note, bold isn't the best thing to differentiate commentary, try a color next time.

You also never EVER lead with a wall. The only walls I believe can be used as leads are Zong and Weezing. Jirachi as a lead, with stat uppers, is pretty useless. And considering you're using CM as a Defense oriented move, it makes it harder. Use Amnesia, since it doubles the SpD boost every turn. I'd also find U-turn in Jirachi somewhere. U-turn hurts Tar's trying to EQ you.

    False statement.

You can lead with a wall more than a stat-upper sweeper and achieve better success these days in my opinion, tuantdos and breloom don't lay in every corner anymore. Didn't anyone tell you don't ever say never? XD Walls can do a perfectly adequate job as lead, filling their role, but majority aren't recommended as you wish to keep your cards sealed away.

    KIngT said:

What I'm trying to suggest to Kiddo is BodySlam-Jirachi lead. Which is a wall, that leads. :l Also, this Jirachi from what I have experienced is a successful lead at that... So, yeah, I wasn't suggesting the stat upper in the move pool, I was suggesting the common BS-Jirachi. So, take the battle out for a second and suggest improvements is what I'm trying to accomplish here. Just forget about Calm Mind already. XD

So I don't completely go off-topic with this 'mini' debate. Another suggestion, get a competitive player (Who know some of the experienced players) to proofread your possible battle log before you do all the formatting, that way, you can save a lot of time in case it's a bad battle.

Walls and tanks are great leads. Hippowdon, Swampert, Bronzong...so many fun choices. So many of them laugh at people who lead with random DDtar sets thinking they can sweep right away. You can SR the field and do whatever.

Walls are awesome leads though. I really don't know why you'd think otherwise. Some walls are not good leads at all, but many do just fine setting up SR early and scaring away a few common leads. =/

EDIT: Not to go completely off-topic there, but I simply cannot disagree more with that statement as 90% of the leads I run are walls and I win about 80%-90% of my matches. The lead usually does well ;)

Yeah, I agree with BeachBoy, I much love abusing Serene Grace, the 60% of paralysis from Body Slam should overweigh Thunder Wave, and the ability to combine it with a STAB Zen Headbutt is what makes me love that pokemon so much more. I went through a phase where every team I made had a Jirachi in it.

Also, leading with walls is oh so much fun. As Anti pointed out, Swampy, Bronzong, Hippowdon leads etc. can throw a spanner in the works very early on. Don't dis what works my friend. ;)

Im not.On the original pokecommunity shodody serever, i either beat, or almost beat bueberry (probably the latter), or maybe it was the first one, but anyway, thne everybody refused to battle me claiming i was a haxxor.THAT's the sort of thing that gets me down

Maybe you are. That's not your fault.

im not a haxxor, i dont know how to be one

Lol, that's the point. You just are. Some are gifted with a lot of hax, while some are on the receiving side of said hax.
