Lag in OC

Hey guys, I don't mean to be a party pooper, but when I browse on my older mac (can't upgrade the browser because my OS is too old now) or my phone the OC main page lags a bunch because of the gif that's there. I don't know why it doesn't lag as much for signatures, but it's just something I noticed, and it's a bit frustrating when I want to refresh the page to see if there are any new posts in the section.

As I said, I don't wanna be a party pooper, and it's all fun and games, it's just a bit annoying on my end so is there a way you can either optimize the gif, have it under a hide/show thing.. or put it as an easter-egg or something in the first post of a stickied thread?

:c Sorry! I feel bad posting this.. but it's just grinding on me because everything starts lagging. I know it's my fault because of my setup so I don't want to ruin the fun for everyone else. I just thought I'd ask. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me BTW?

Awwh thanks! I think it's also fine if you put it into a spoiler.. for some reason my phone doesn't like/ is unable to load stuff under spoilers so.. that'd cut lag times too. I just didn't want to ruin the lightheartedness of OC :c

Oh, I'll be putting something else there when I get around to it haha. Either a really lightweight gif, a spoiler, or just a static image. But for now I thought I'd just get rid of it completely to ease the problem while I get round to finding something else!
