Our focal legendaries in RSE were Groudon, Kyogre, and Sky, and they were respectively the protectors of land, sea, and sky. Groudon was the mascot of Pokémon Ruby, Kyorgre represented Sapphire, and for Rayquaza, it was Emerald. There were two villainous teams featured in these games, which wanted to utilize two of these Pokémon for there own, personal needs, but with the player and Rayquaza (or Steven, if it's either Ruby or Sapphire), their plans were eventually stopped.

Overall, what are your thoughts on these three legendaries? Did you like them, or dislike? If it's latter, why so? Of them all, which would you call your most favorite, and why? How long did it take you capture them, approximately? How do you feel about their involvement in the games? If you were to change anything about Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza, what would it be?

I've only played Emerald, but I'm a big fan of all three of them. I mean, most legendaries tend to grow on me eventually, but still.
I think they make a lot more sense than the Creation Trio - I didn't like the physical embodiment of time, space and anti-matter idea that much, but this works. My favourite is probably Rayquaza, closely followed by Kyogre (because ones a dragon and the other is based on an orca, and they take on Great White Sharks). Groudon just doesn't work for me as much - I like the design but what with all the water in Hoenn and him being really slow, just never worked well in-game for me.
I always find Rayquaza and Groudon easier to capture, sometimes get them in just a couple of Ultra Balls (or Timer if my pokémon are weak) whereas Kyogre takes about half an hour of continuous capture attempts most times.
As for changing them? No, I really like them just the way they are

Even now, I haven't got bored of their designs. They just seemed so unique! Rayquaza being similar to a snake, Kyogre being like a whale and Groudon I'm not so sure about. My most favourite would definitely have to be Rayquaza. It's glowing lights on its body just made it stand out, and it looks really ferocious. I think the one you catch in R/S/E also has Fly! A legendary Pokémon with a HM. :3

When I first played Emerald, the first legendary I caught was obviously Rayquaza. I just Masterballed it straight away because I know it was gonna be a total pain to catch it. Groudon was definitely the hardest to capture. That thing was a monster. I mean it. I wasted around 60-70 PokéBalls on that, and it started Struggling. Had the reset several times until I could successfully capture it. Kyogre was pretty similar, but I only had to reset once. After the reset, I caught it in the first throw. Nice, huh?

I don't think I would change anything about them, really. They seem perfect as they were created, Especially Rayquaza's design. That thing is flawless, at least to me. I was kinda bummed though when I saw the size differences though, lol. That would be the only thing I would possibly change!

I think Groudon must have been based off dinosaurs. Latter mostly live in ground, which is Groudon's type specialty. Its entire body resemble them, actually, but only difference is that its hands are tad large; if they were smaller, I'm sure it would have looked exactly like them. Though, I suppose this is what makes this Pokémon stand out so much--its overall uniqueness. After all, it's a legendary, so they probably were required to make it seem that way. =)

As far capturing goes, most difficult for me to catch was definitely Groudon in Ruby version. Back then, I didn't know much about capturing legendaries, unfortunately, so I did not wind up lowering its health or giving it some status affect; as soon as I had encountered, I immediately began throwing Poké Balls without even touching. Due to that, it had taken me about three to four days to finally have it caught. If it weren't for that, then I would've done it much early. Second would be Kyogre, with third being Rayquaza.

Story-wise, I like Rayquaza's role in Emerald a lot more than other two. It plays as a peacemaker, and stops Kyogre and Groudon from feuding with each other, bringing the world back to normal. In Ruby and Sapphire, though, it, sadly, doesn't wind up getting too involved, which I didn't like.

If I could change anything about them, Id make Groudon Fire/Ground type (although that would make him doubly weak to Kyogre's water)
