    I think supporters should be able to upload an avatar with a larger file size.

    Right now, there is a 100KB limit. It's a bit annoying when you try and use your 150x150 avatar when the limit is 100KB and your avatar's size is 101KB. :/

    I'm not suggesting a huge rise. Maybe 150KB?

    What do you all think?
     
    Would uploading the image somewhere else even work? ._.
    I've never tried it; as far as I know, the forum still has a filesize limit, and it's said no to me in the past when I used to upload my avatars elsewhere.

    ^ I think so. I know on other vB forums that I've used, it's remained hosted on the other domain. I can't be 100% confident on how it works here though. I'm not sure whether the max. size refers to just the upload, or the link as well.
     
    ...I know what the uploader looks like and how it works lmfao.

    But it would make sense if you could upload larger filesizes on other sites, though. I've never payed enough attention to notice whether it works here or not.

    No it doesn't work that way. Either of the boxes is just to link to a file which is then copied to the on-server storage for user avatars. It's half the reason why the size limit is in place. Everyone look at your avatars now, you'll find they're sourced from www.pokecommunity.com/customavatars/avatarXYZ.gif

    Anyway, if you actually manage to make a 150px image larger than 100KB you're doing something very wrong in the first place (Or trying to upload a crazy GIF that uses the entire 256 colour palette and a ton of frames)

    Haha, I didn't say what I was trying to get across very well there. MY ENGLAND SO BAD TODAY.

    I gotta say though, as a host myself, I can imagine that even another 50kb for avatars means hundreds of users each potentially using another 50kb, and it really adds up surprisingly quickly. (I know the donation should pay for your little space but, yeah, dang.)
