    [PokeCommunity.com] Left 4 Dead 2

Since the original version got so popular(I love it! Boomer!), the creator have to make a sequel for it. In the second version, you can use melee weapons(chainsaw and frying pan lolz) plus new weapons(AK-47?) and new special zombies(Charger, Screamer, etc). And of course, new characters, new maps, and new plots! A lot of bugs have been fixed too I've heard. Like the crates wouldn't show up in the map deathaboard in 1?

Ug, would rather see extra content for the first one. Makes me kinda frustrated too that Valve is making this (which could easily be an exspansion instead of a full retail game) instead of Half-Life Episode 3 or Portal 2.

are you going to riot like every else
belive me, I don't like it too but we are still getting a new game

    As long as they continue to update the first one, it'll make the experience better. Instead of having four of the same characters, you now have eight characters and hopefully many updates to each version which makes it a richer and more satisfying experience. At least that's how I'm looking at it. You're just getting some more great things that will create a more believable world, you know? XD;

I'm also with Wulf in saying I'd love some more information about Half Life 2: Episode 3 and Portal 2, but I'm looking forward to Left 4 Dead 2 as much as any Valve game. :x

I need/want to get the first one too! I really want both XD

I'm pretty excited to play this one. I played the first one and pretty much got all the achievements on it and know my way around every single map.(no I do not play this 24/7 as I have a life you know) L4D2 seems real interesting to play with all its new and extra content. But what I really hate is the characters. I dont know why but I just do. It would be nice if you could get some sort of DLC that allows you to use the original characters instaid of the new ones but who knows maybe that will come out.

    I'm not excited. At All.

Sure, the recent gameplay footage looks great, in graphical terms and gameplay (moving around instead of camping, fantastic idea).

Now, if you ask me? I wouldn't pay $60 for this game.

I've bought Left 4 Dead in January 2009, where they did a Weekend deal and sold the game at half price. I've been playing it since.

Valve is known for taking large amounts of time and hard work for making sequels to they're videogames. I mean, look at Team Fortress 2 and Half-Life 2, prior to these sequels the original games were released 8 to 9 years before!!

And it's been almost 5 years now and we still haven't heard of Half Life 2: Episode Three (can't wait).

So if Valve is releasing a sequel to a nearly PERFECT game, only than 10 months later after the release of the first one, I find it very disappointing.

Also, has anybody seeing some of gameplay features, new weapons and Zombies?

Valve has been promising a lot of stuff for L4D1 which they still haven't released but they somehow manage to release a sequel to a nearly perfect game 1 year later? That's a horrible move. I'm a proud member of the L4D2 Boycott and I have to say I am somewhat disappointed that a lot of people think this is actually a good idea. ITS HORRIBLE. Wow....all they did was re-skin the shotgun and assault rifle....which btw, still reload the same....apparently the Witch Wanders around now....and, oh wait, in some videos....YEAH! She still sits on the floor.....The new special infected, the Screemer is based off of the Smoker's designed and that new charging retarded looking zombie is just a smaller version of the Tank!!.......The new campaigns are no different from the original 4 campaigns...it's just new levels doing the same thing you've always done, except now you can't camp and you are forced to run...I still think that the new Campaigns should be released as DLC and charged for like...$20 or something....but as for "Incendiary Rounds", "New Weapons", "New Zombies" and all that crap it could be released through regular updating...Valve just doesn't want to.

As a company, the feel they NEED to make a sequel and charge $60 for it so that they can make more money. Which, in my opinion, is total crap. Counter Strike: Source, Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 sell more units every day.

Another thing, and let's face it, when this sequel comes out, people are going to stop playing Left 4 Dead and that will split the online gaming communtiy in half or even possibly kill Left 4 Dead multiplayer. This same thing applies to Modern Warfare 2, but the only difference is that it's been 2 years since Modern Warfare, which is plenty enough time to make a sequel, not 10 months.

    I agree.
I will not be buying the new Left 4 Dead as they could have put most of it into the first L4D, people say It's big enough for a whole new game... ok but where's all this new DLC content for L4D1. All we have had is Survival Mode.

I'm totally getting it. I don't care what anyone else thinks. I'm a fan of the prequel and I've been so excited since the announcement at E3. So please; enough of the should of, could of, and would of. Let the rest of the world enjoy it while you can sit there and pout.

And as far as I heard, the Screamer is only a rumor.

They could have just updated everything into the first one.

I am disappointed with them. I am sure at one point they said they were going to keep updating L4D, but unless they do, while updating L4D2, then it will just be annoying.

It is a fun game, but I would have preferred not having to shell out more money for a clone of a game, that has a few extra sparkles...

Sorry, but it's pretty obvious from your post that you don't know too much about L4D2. While I may not support VALVe releasing a sequel less than a year later I still have kept up with the updates so I'm well informed about the game. You on the other hand have not.
You even mention 'the Screamer' which as I've mentioned before is a scrapped special infected from the first game.
There is no Screamer in L4D2, there's the Charger and the Spitter.

I'm pretty excited about this one.
I am a big fan of Left 4 Dead.

Of course, I can understand why people would be upset.
    I believe Valve said:
"All the new content was too big to be just an update, so it is going to be made into a sequel."

    or something along those lines.

...why didn't I see this thread earlier?

(Oh, also excited about the Spitter & Charger.)

Charger's nice, like the Tank. Spitter? Never heard of that before. And they said there's this invisible sp. infected and the "Evil Gecko" if that is true.

And say, Smoker's got himself a wife! lolz

The Spitter as the name implies, spits a corrosive glob of acid that damages any survivor standing in the radius of the acid over time. Much like the Charger, this special infected will be extremely effective against campers.

Hey man, I actually have a life. :D I don't ponder around the web looking for updates about a video game I'm not going to buy, but I sure as hell am going to explain why I don't like it. Oh, and another thing, the L4D2 boycott keeps us updated on everything Left 4 Dead and L4D2 related, so I know the same as you know. ;)

My point still stands about the charger, and the Spitter is just a faster version of the boomer with a similar effect, but instead of attracting special infected to you, it does damage.

Don't you think valve, being a very talented and successful company, could think of something better to do instead of making special infected that are pretty similar to the ones already introduced?

You're telling me I don't know nothing of Left 4 Dead 2 because I confused the name of a special infected? Who are you to judge me? Oh, because you are a Poke community moderator?

I don't really care if you gave me bad reputation, if it was you or not, but I don't recall somebody saying that this topic was only for people who like Left 4 Dead 2. Because, If I'm not mistaken, I'm not the ONLY one who has complained or said something negative about this game, and yet you come at me when I make a valid and intelligent post?

I don't see how what you said was relevant to the topic, since I was just stating my opinion, and still chose to come after me. :/

So you're telling me that the Spitter is like the Boomer, only it deals damage instead of spawning hordes? And I thought that pic is the wife of the Smoker.

    Irrelevant.

They actually serve a purpose, which is to break up camping. Camping being one of the issues complained about most when it comes to L4D.
Whether I think VALVe is doing the right thing by pushing out a new L4D a little less than a year later is an entirely different case.

Activision and EA spit out new games of the same franchise every year and I don't see people complaining hysterically as they do L4D2. I guess that's what you get when your userbase has become extremely pampered.
You're telling me I don't know nothing of Left 4 Dead 2 because I confused the name of a special infected?
The fact that you're confusing a special infected that was cut in development of the first game is quite amusing when you're trying to argue your point regarding the sequel.
Who are you to judge me? Oh, because you are a Poke community moderator?
Being a mod has nothing to do with this.
I don't really care if you gave me bad reputation
I didn't. Negative rep shouldn't be given if you disagree with a person, that is misuse of the system.

Lastly, the first game was far from perfect. It had an abundance of issues that needed to be fixed, which is one of the reasons people are pissed about the sequel since they effectively have to pay for these fixes.

You can enjoy your new campaign, Crash Course, coming out next month.
