Well Guys I have some doubts with legality.Hope you can clear them
Actually I'm making a site for ROM Hacking & Pokemon Gaming!I mean How legal is ROM Hacking...Cause I dont want to get into any trouble..Are there any rules against it & that day I was reading an article in an old Readers Digest and got scared!
    Thanks!

It's very illegal. And Nintendo has the right to sue every penny out of you for doing it. And I'm serious here. XD

Are you sure..Then how come there are Forums on it in PC,Aclcm,etc.....
    Some more opinions please.
And Is there a RULE/LAW Agains it!

    Yes, you're breaking copyrights.

Hense the ROMs not being allowed... that's taking some of the legal issues away... but you're still busting copyrights in half.[/color]

Hmmm....How About If I do like this.
In my Main Page -- I type
"Having ROMS are Illegal unless you own A gameBoyAdvance and are having a Backup Copy.
ROM Hacking is ILLEGAL until you have a GBA and are just editing the game to check it out for some."
    Tell me!

you arebt allowed to use ROMS EVEN IF YOU HAVE A BACKUP

Can I Download a Nintendo ROM from the Internet if I Already Own the Authentic Game? There is a good deal of misinformation on the Internet regarding the backup/archival copy exception. It is not a "second copy" rule and is often mistakenly cited for the proposition that if you have one lawful copy of a copyrighted work, you are entitled to have a second copy of the copyrighted work even if that second copy is an infringing copy. The backup/archival copy exception is a very narrow limitation relating to a copy being made by the rightful owner of an authentic game to ensure he or she has one in the event of damage or destruction of the authentic. Therefore, whether you have an authentic game or not, or whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time, i.e. 24 hours, it is illegal to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet.

Oh!!!!Boy!!I guess I have to think about my site now!

I guess so. But usually if you put a disclaimer I don't think they can do anything. Especially since you are only hacking the ROMs.
I know what happens if you host ROMs. Nintendo sends you an e-mail telling you to remove them. So, till they do that you can have them in your sites. But after that you have to remove or else they might take you to court.:( But they usually send e-mail only to sites hosting ROMs and not to sites hacking them.

So yeah, as everyone said, it's illegal in every way

I think this should be closed now, but that's just me :P

Just Nintendo ROMs? Any and all ROMs are 100% illegal. Downloading or playing them is infringing copyright. Hacking into them is infringing copyright. Putting them up on your site is infringing copyright, with or without a disclaimer. Even if you have that little bit of text, nobody reads it, and it won't save you from a law suit. You should be thankful Nintendo doesn't look down upon ROM hacking like they do ROM distributing.

But anyway, this thread is pointless now. *locks*

    ...;_; I can dream can't I?! xD

No no, bakane, that's not it. "Those whose dreams fade seek to carve them in their hearts." xP
