woah, when i was gone this thread became a chat room! how exciting :/
how can man-made pokemon be shiny? (AKA Porygon Family). Wouldn't that just be a different paintbrush on the ol polygon train?

Simple. More than one Porygon was made, and more than one Castform was made. As for Mewtwo, no idea.

....so it is just a different paint brush on the ol porygon train.
HOWEVER that does NOT account for the rarity of shiny man-made pokemon. Stupid inconsistencies.

Perhaps not, but human mistakes would.

"Oh crap! I put a 1 instead of a 0 in the binary, and now this Porygon isn't the right color! My boss is going to fire me!! AHHHHHHH!!"

damn you wake, you always know how to patch up what game freak has not!
except for shiny mewtwo.

anyway, i dont know if ive asked this before, but why does regigigas suck so hard? wouldn't you think that, after a while, he'd stop having such a slow start? Like, after being awake for a couple of days, he'd be... awake, and not slow to start in a battle.

That's Waker of Chaos, and thanks... I think.

Regigigas is HUGE. Bigger than any Wailord. That's why it has Slow Start. It has to shake off all that earth and everything before it can really battle.

Too bad "Turn Jump" is only for Yu-Gi-Oh!, eh?

No its not, Regigigas is only 12 foot tall while wailord is at least 40. Either way the point you made is correct: He's ancient and aging, dragging continents around is gonna do your back in. Besides have you seen his stats? I think it was a method of toning him down, its like uber version of slaking.

Whatever the size, we can't really pull the metagame into this. It has nothing to do with the legends, and won't affect them in any way, no matter what.

Yeah but if we're involving their abilities then we're involving the metagame. I answered a strategy-based question with a strategy-based answer

Yeah but if we're involving their abilities then we're involving the metagame.

Wrong. A Pokémon's Ability is basically just a trait they have. For example, why do you think only Porygon-Z gets Download or Adaptability? Why can't it get Levitate or Hyper Cutter?

Because it's not equipped to use them, as ridiculous as that may sound. I mean, look at it. It looks like it's supposed to float, right? But it doesn't. Earthquake still hits it.

By the same token, only Regigigas has Slow Start because it simply can't move very fast until it's used to moving.

Mewtwo was cloned using Mew's Deoxyribonucleic acid. They altered Mew's DNA, i thinks. So when they altered it, they could accidentally destroyed a few chromosomes that affected Mewtwo's color. So the final result would be a different coloured mewtwo.

Maybe that explains shiny mewtwo's.

I love that word, deoxyrybonucleic acid. I'm really quite strange lol.
Yeah sice DNA is biological matter it is capable of decomposing. Scientists are likely to have added several substances to stablize the DNA (Which obviously didnt work lol)

Good idea :)

cool

i think its important to remember that this is all made up and there is no deeper meaning behind pokemon apart form fun

Everything has a deep meaning within it, someone might of consciously created something, but it can have a subconscious meaning as well.

Like look at Alice in Wonder Land or The Matrix. It looks like a fairy tale or some Sci-fi adventure, But its actually has alot of philosophical meaning.

I think it's important to remember that you aren't always right. This is one of those times. Honestly, why would they be called "legendary Pokémon" if there weren't a deep meaning?

Yes! the thread is reborn! A pity it got brought back up with a flame. A quote springs to mind: "He refused to be bored for he was not boring" If you cant find the good in something you're obviously a very negative peron.

Here's a religion/science question to get the thread back up to speed: Kyogre is known to expand the seas, but how does he do it? Can he physically create water, or does he somehow generate atmospeheric pressure to the extent the condensation occurs? Just a quick thought, because some people reckon these pokes are godly enough to create things, while some say that matter can not be created or destroyed, just converted. Im on the fence as this is a land where anything's possible, i just wanted other peoples views :)

Sorry about that. Also, guilty as charged.

I think the latter is the case. Kyogre most likely creates the pressure needed.

Oh waker not you, i was talking about Lord nightmare. Ive just read his other posts, its comedy material. And yeah, thats what i thought. I just wanted some clarification. So as a generalisation, it seems to me that although most legendries have 'godly' abilities, they achieve them through processes that have some sort of scientific explaination. For example, Kyoger cause condensation and preciptiation while groudon causes evaporation, Zapdos lives in clouds and will therfore generate static, etc. Would you agree?

Yeah, I would. It's either that or they just go, "I WANT MORE STATIC HERE!"

Yeah, that would be funny :) I suppose its a mixture of both. While zapdos is gonna get filled with static, living in thunderclouds, it woulod take some kind of divine power to allow it to be channeled.
