Life Is Beautiful

So, today was a long day. I just got home from a funeral for a dear family friend.

Luckily, I don't go to funerals often. Everyone I know is pretty healthy. However, the one who was buried today died from Cancer. She was about 52, and leaves behind two children in their early 20's and a husband. My parents knew her since she was 15, and I became close to her over the years. We loved her dearly.

Something she always would say is "seize the day." This is something I want to do more of. I am a really shy person with social anxieties that prevent me from doing some things, but I want to do more with my life. I want to travel, I want to make more friends, I want to try new things and live life to the fullest. Sadly, these are things I haven't really been doing all that much. I graduated college recently, and already regret not doing more when I dormed there such as attend parties and stuff like that. I am 22 years old, which is still really young I understand, but there are just so many things I want to do. I don't want a boring life, and I don't want to wonder what could have been when I am older.

My new motto in life from now on is to "seize the day" like she did. She had an incredibly happy life. (The funeral was HUGE, the whole town was there including police due to her husband being an ex cop. She was pretty popular lol.) After all, life is beautiful even though it can beat you down sometimes. I've been beat down a lot lately, and I want to fight back and live!

But yeah, I just felt like typing some. This is more for me but I wanted to share in case any of you think life isn't worth it. It is.

fake your death.
i'm trying to do more while i can in college as well. it's my last year and i'm taking a leap and doing sorority recruitment!! lol

I had that same exact feeling after my grandmother passed away last year. After her funeral, my family and I went to her house and I laid down on the grass next to her garden. I had an epiphany that there's SO MANY things that I haven't done in life, and life is passing by quicker than actual time. People will say "oh you're young, you have loads of time to do things in life." That's not true. That will never be true. Time is valuable in life.

I'm sorry for your loss, by the way. She sounds like an incredible person and was loved dearly by family and friends.
