1st Gen Link's R/B/Y Monotype Challenge

hmm.... taking normal type does have its advantages and disadvantages.

ghost type cant hit you
rock and fighting can do big damage

but anyway, good luck on it. shame i had to go near Bill's house to catch my first, and it wasnt easy.

the only rock i have encountered is Geodude. it will cause some problems for the 2nd gym; not for the 3rd though. might have to wait until drill tunnel to get different knids of rock type.
 
Battling Misty won't be a problem, as I chose Bulbasaur as my starter.
 
oh i see. yeah bulbasaur will have vine whip, so it should be easy. i had to fight with 1 pokemon until beating gary and the 5 trainers on the bridge.
 
Holy crap I feel so advanced.. the only reason why I'm so far in the game is because I'm on an emulator and I speed up time constantly, making the battles extremely short, and the paths between cities even shorter. XD

I might as well post an update

Progress
- Cleared out the S. S. Anne + rival, all with my Charmeleon.
- Got the Thunderbadge, again with Charmeleon.
- Went through Rock Tunnel with Charmeleon. That was my hardest challenge this whole game because there's no PokeCenter to heal anytime. And a hell of a lot of trainers. Charmeleon evolved into Charizard in Rock Tunnel.
- Got to Lavender Town.
- Went west and finally caught my first fire Pokemon, Vulpix, to back up Charizard.
- Cleared out Team Rocket in Celadon city, training up Vulpix.
- Beat Erica with Vulpix
- Used Fire Stone on Vulpix right before entering Cycling Road, I now have a Ninetails.
- Went through Cycling Road training Ninetails and Charizard.
- Beat Koga
- Found Golden Teeth and Secret House in the Safari Zone.

Actually, it was BreakingBen who started challenges, i don't remember how long ago it was. Seems as all the types are taken now, since Jolly beat me to the fighting type.

Viaquez, y didn't u teach Zard Fly/Wing Attack? It's beter than Growl lol

I know beedrill is poison, but they're so ugh. I saving that spot open for venonat. and I'm not at oddish yet. I'm in Mt. Moon at the moment.

BreakingBen started them? I wasn't totally sure who did but I had to give credit to somebody.

The only way you can really enter is if you want one of the mega hard types like dragon or ice. Your choice.

I didn't teach him Fly cause I hate having HMs on my battle Pokemon. XD And, there's no Wing Attack TM so I can't teach him that. :x

Or you could pick the Ghost type for it either. Ice is the hardest; Jynx and Articuno are the only ice types there.

-Beat all the trainers on the route and made it to Mt. Moon.
-Caught a level 7 Zubat. Nicknamed him (or her) Leaf (don't ask why).
-Both my Bulbasaur and Nidoran evolved in the same battle into Ivysaur and Nidorina.
-Currently trying to make it to the end of the tunnel.

Yeah I know, but this isn't a race so it should be fine. It's way too hard for me to not use the speed up button because when I don't, the game seems to go sooo slow.. XD;
