Is anyone else trying to complete a living dex?

It is hard to evolve more then one second evolution by candy however finding second evolutions in the wild seem easier now at level 16. For example I evolved a Gloom via candy before but now just found another Gloom that I can evolve. I'm sure I'll find more final evolutions as well

By living dex do you mean having one copy of each Pokémon existing in your box at once? eg, rather than having fully evolved a Squirtle you'd have to own all of Squirtle, Wartortle and Blastoise simultaneously for it to count? If so then yes, I'm doing this myself! I make sure I always have at least one copy of each Pokémon left and I won't evolve a Pokémon at 50 candy unless I have a spare copy of its unevolved form in order to replace it. It's a bit OCD of me but I find it satisfying and it'll look great when finished haha.

Yes, What is your opinion on doing them out of order. For example having Oddish, then Vileplume then Gloom. I try not to do them out of order, but I have had some mishaps, I had to catch another Weedle recently because I accidentally evolved or transferred my first one. Could you imagine doing them by dex number...

Definitely need to find more second evolutions in the wild to save the extra 50 candies for evolving the 100 candy final form.

I was really glad I found Gloom in the wild as I didn't want to evolve another one or evolve the one I had.

I'm also trying to have at least one of everything, including pre-evolutions, at once, and when I go on transferring sprees I always make sure I leave 2 or 3 of an unevolved form so that when I evolve one I have another left. I don't care at all about the order I do things in though. Like I found a Kingler before a Krabby and was fine with that. I'd also evolve a 2nd-tier into a 3rd-tier if I had enough candy even if I didn't have another of that 2nd-tier, but I would then try and save up enough candy to evolve a 1st-tier into a 2nd-tier so I had one again.

Yes, I'm doing this as well. I'm not following an order or anything; I'm just catching what I can, when I can. It's proving to be pretty difficult with certain rare Pokemon (the starters and Dratini) requiring so many candies for their evolutions. But I'm enjoying the project so far.

Right now I'm at 102/145, so it's coming along. :)

Yeah, I'm aiming for it, but for some of the harder ones to find (Gastly, Dratini, etc.) I'll be content with just having the last evolution for now. Ultimately I'd want to have one of every Pokemon, but that's a very down-the-road goal.

I keep the best two of everything. If i have enough candy to evolve 3 of them, i keep the best 3.

Recently i hit 216 psyduck candy, you can only evolve it once, for 50 candy, so in the end i was keeping the best 4 psyducks, then i evolved the best 3. They all came out in the 1100-1300 CP range.

Also i like to do evolve-sessions with a lucky egg, and you can get 60-65 evolutions into the 30 minutes, for 60k to 65k experience. Working up to that, i end up keeping the 20 best pigeots and the 20 best weedles.

So i usually have around 150 pokemon in my collection, then it grows to around 220 as i get ready for another lucky egg session, and then it drops back to 150 when i am done doing my lucky egg evolutions.
