Is it possible show a looping or continuous animation on an overworld sprite? For instance something similar to the DBZ aura?

If so, how do I go about it?

  • You can mess around with Stop Animation (at the bottom left of your event, check the box). This will cause the sprite to look like it's walking.

From there you can align your animation on a character graphic, and use that as the graphic of your event.

Ok so that worked, I just can't figure out how to get the size right. When I use this, the image stutters a bit and looks like it is moving left to right. How can I resize this to make it large enough to fit 4 sprite frames but stay in one place?

The difficult part is making a gen 3 sprite fit inside the aura and make all of them fit in 4 frames

The size isn't the problem. You just need to align each frame of the aura so that they are in the exact same position for each frame. You can turn on grid view for whatever image editor you are using and align the frames properly using that.
