So I left my pokemon in the day-care to breed it, and it lost one of its moves, because it learned some new stupid move that overwrote it. Annoyed at this, I took it to the move-relearner, only to realize I didn't have a heart scale. So for a long time I went luvdisc fishing and finally went back to the move relearner. But after all that, the move (earthquake) wasn't even on the list of moves he could reteach it! Is it because it was an inherited move that he didn't learn on his own? Shouldn't those still be on the list??

You can only relearn moves via Heart Scale that are in the pokémon's lost of moves that it will gain during level up. Best thing to do when you put Pokémon in the Daycare is, if it has moves you don't want it to forget, is put said move at the bottom of the list, and study the Pokémon's level up move list so you know when to take it out again.

Either way, please use the Quick Questions thread for such questions like this in future.
