I am having trouble catching Lugia in pokemon crystal, I am using a level 87 Feraligatr , I manage to get its health down until to it nearly has no health left and try and use the ultra ball but it won?t say in there . I don?t really want to use the master ball since I am I am saving it to catch Raikou or Entei

    Can anyone help??????

Huh... you try putting it to sleep or seomthing?

...if it's somewhere where you can find it and "wake it up" -- save before you battle it, save, then if you don't catch it, turn off your gameboy then come back to it and keep trying.

I caught a Kyogre and it took at least 10 balls each time and I tried 5 times.

I have saved the game just before i encounter Lugia , i must of tried about 20 times so far but sill can't catch it,

You have tried putting it to sleep, paralyzing it, etc, right? That's the best way to increase your chances of catching legendaries.

The only pokemon i have that can put others to sleep is Jigglypuff, unfortunately it is only at level 14, i will have to leave it in the day care for quite a while

You could take it to Victory Road and babysit it, couldn't ya?

Put it at the front of your party and go battle wild Pokemon. Don't let him do any battling, switch him out right away.

    That way he'll get the experience points, but won't get hurt. ^^;

I took your advice, I put Jigglypuff in the front of my party and I am repeatedly battling the elite four, Jigglypuff is up to about level 27 now

    That's good. ^o^

Keep training him up, and soon enough you'll have no problem against the Elite 4. ^-^

That's good using Jigglypuff. Though I used a Lv. 90 Ampharos and Thunder Wave. Also used a ton of Ultra Balls. It worked though.

Tha's not a good idea, because it gives the Pok?mon a chance to attack when you switch. If you have an Exp. Share, give it to Jigglypuff.
No, you switch as soon as it pops up. The offending Pokemon attacks whoever replaces Jigglypuff.

If Lugia is at a lower level than you then you could try using level balls instead of your average ultra's. They will be more effective. Maybe try heavy balls too... I'm pretty sure Lugia is quite heavy.

do u know how to clone a pokemon ?
This is exactly what i was going to ask.

Ok,in case you do not know how.
Pick a pokemon, any poke, does not matter.Give him the Master Ball.then save in front of the PC in the Pokemon Center.Switch to an empty box, depsosite the poke with the MB,then switch to an empty box,and when it is saying saving do not turn of the power,do turn it off,you have to time it just right though so it doesn't actually save, but gives enough time to copy data.

    now you have two MBs.

I tried that and it deleted my Articuno. DON'T DO IT UNLESS YOU GIVE THE MASTERBALL TO A STUPID POKEMON LIKE RATATTA!!! Trust me, you won't regret it. I was so stupid giving the MB to Articuno and then seeing that it wasn't in any box or my party. I hate that cloning cheat now....
