4th Gen Magikarp evolve Help!

    Hi all,

    new to the forum and first time playing pokemon. Started by helping out my kid, and found myself addicted, so fun!

    Having a problem trying to evolve the MagiKarp into Gyardos. I leveled it up to 21 and it started to evolve and then suddenly stopped.

    Any explanations or assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks!
     
    You were pressing the B button as it was evolving which makes it stop.

    So just level it up to 22 and make sure you do not press the B button and it will evolve.
     
    ^That's likely it - B button is used to stop evolution. The other possible explanation is that the Pokemon was holding the Everstone item which stops evolution as well.
