3rd Gen Magma vs Aqua: The Debate Rages

    Which do you prefer? Magma, or Aqua?
    I like Magma, because a) they're so psycho, and b) their outfits are better. And that leader makes me laugh ^^. Meanwhile, Aqua and their sailor outfits... who do they think they are, Sailor Moon?
     
    Yeah. Magma. They do have better outfits and I like red and fire types.

    +Cooler pokémon
    +Better leader
    +I see their cause a tiny bit more just, as long as they don't go crazy. The earth, and all of its peoples need some more living space

    =Name is equal for the both of them, I like them both.

    -The pokemon they are after is fire, which in theory is weak against water.

    Aqua
    -Stupid outfits
    -Stupid Pokemon
    -Stupid leader
    -Who needs more water?

    Personally, I like Aqua better, always have. Actually the first hack that I attempted to make was called Pokemon Aqua and you started off as a grunt in the team and made your way up all the way to leader.

    Groudon is actually a ground type.

    I like Aqua because they wear blue and water Pokemon are win. =)
     
    Team Magma

    For a number of reasons

    1. Their outfits are cooler
    2. I love the fire-types
    3. I have severe Aqua Phobia (fear of water), so when Team Aqua said that they were gonna have the whole world to be nothing but ocean, I felt this panic anxiety growing somewhere within me - even if it is just a game

    The only thing I DIDN'T like about Team Magma was their choice of Pokémons. Most likely because at the time I used Gardevoir as my team leader... and we all know how well psychics are against dark :\
     
    Magma...

    Wearing nonsensical articles of clothing is fun (yanno, sunglasses indoors or in the dark?). They wear hoods in hot places.
    Maxie is intimidating. He'd put me in line.
    Expanding the sea is a frivilous pursuit; we are TERRESTRIAL creatures.
    They do not look like they are trying to cause trouble unlike their pirate-esque counterparts...
     
    Magma has apprently won this debate already. xD Let me contribute my thoughts:

    Magma: Better attire / suit (The first magma grunt I'd ever seen was quite scary-looking to me, later on it started just looking creepily awesome), I don't prefer their pokemon choices, and Maxie IS cooler than Archie...

    Aqua: Rather dissapointing clothing (Sailor gear? Nothing against sailors, but...), rather awesome pokemon selection (Sharpedo ftw anyone?), however, their leader needs to shave...

    There's my inlook on this matter. o.O
     
    I don't really have a preferrence, but I'd probably go with Team Aqua because they somehow click better to me as game villains. Carvanha and Sharpedo are pretty cool pokemon, while Numel and Camerupt are a bit mediocre and non-offensive-looking imo, not to mention they're super weak against water (my favorite type in the game, and another reason why I prefer Aqua).
     
    Aqua has better attire! I mean, seriously! Who wears big puffy tracksuits in volcanoes, eh? xD Sure they look like pirates, but Magma just looks silly! :\
     
    I like Team Aqua because the way they look and I thought they were cool in Sapphire! =]
     
    I prefered magma, when I played Ruby, I totally agreed with them, but I couldn't see the problem with turning the volcano into a lake xD

    I don't like water(especially Kyogre...)
    And Groudon is much cooler than Kyogre, and he can learn Solarbeam, which in combination with his Drought ability, makes it 1st turn PWN!
    And it also raises the Accuracy of Fire Blast from 70 > 100

    MAGMA:
    + Maxie is cool
    + Groudon is EVEN cooler than Maxie(i'm not counting temperature, since Groudon's Drought makes it pretty hot...)
    + They have cool Pokemon, Camerupt and Mightyena, yay
    + Great Name!
    + In the anime, they are more active, and they has those cool Infraview goggles :)
    + Also in the anime, GROUDON saves the world from Kyogre...
    = Thier outfits are ...funny... makes them look a little like Red Bears...
    - Thier Pokemons are weak to Team Aqua's...

    AQUA
    + Thier Pokemon are strong agains Team Magma's
    = Decent name...
    - I have always disliked water Pokemons...
    - Thier leader is wierd...
    - Stupid sign, looks like the Rune for "O"
    - In the anime, who was it who tried to flood the world, with all of his friends left down on the ground... (TIP: It was not Maxie)



    So, Magma for me!
     
    Maxie > Archie

    Magma wins the debate in many other ways (music, Pokemon, just overall better), but the leaders seals the deal for me. Maxie looks and acts like a real bad guy. He has that sinister, evil appearance and personality that makes him a good villian. Archie... just looks like some wannabe gangster or something. He's lame. =P
     
    Maxie IS more sophisticated than Archie (Much more so). BUT Archie has some sense. If Maxie were to blow up that volcano it would have made five other cities around it go boom. O.o Archie just looked for the giant blue whale thingy.

    PLUS, Kyogre Pwns Groudon. If it gets Drought onto the field, then Kyogre can just use Ice Type attacks. O.o

    I like Team Aqua's music, and style. (They have more stylish uniforms) and water Pokemon ftw.
