    Hi there! :)

I've been browsing PC (catching up on threads, posting... no searching, no refreshing) and I'm noticing that every time I open up PC on Flock 2.6.2 (which uses Firefox) or Firefox... my computer starts whining. My browser starts eating up a lot of CPU and RAM and the lag of doom begins. I have tried browsing PC with no other tabs open in my browser, but I am having the same issue.

I think this is a new issue as I never experienced this when I had browsed PC on other occasions. Granted, that was a little while ago... but yeah.

The only thing that seems to resolve the issue is to browse PC for a short while, close out the browser, wait until my computer stops going crazy over the resource hogging, and then restart the browser and return to PC... and wash, rinse, and repeat.

Are you sure it's not like a virus or something? A website shouldn't make your computer lag.

For starters, Firefox eats up a lot of RAM, what size is yours? Secondly, what PC style are you using? You could possibly switch to a less image heavy style to reduce the amount of loading your computer will need to do. You could also try cleaning your browser, turn off some unused add-ons, clear cache & cookies and the likes. If all else fails, resort to a new broswer which does not take up so much RAM. But PC shouldn't do this, it's only a forum with little amount of things that could slow your computer. Usually sites with javascript and the likes could lag some PC's, but PC doesn't have anything heavy enough to do so.

Thanks for the responses everyone. In all actuality, the portable machine I use is on the older side of things, so some amount of slowness is - at this point - simply kind of anticipated. I mean... 2 Gigs of RAM? Yeah, this machine is kind of old. On the other hand, I had never experienced this issue with PC before in the other times I've been here which is why I made the post.

In that vein, switching browsers doesn't help; Opera is even more lightweight than Chrome as Chrome operates off the Safari structure and Safari on my machine REALLY doesn't like this site (even more than Firefox and Flock) and Opera was still having issues.

And nope, definitely no virus. No other website (save for YouTube or something script or streaming media heavy) is giving me this same issue.
