Is it true, that female Pokemon are weaker than males?

My friend a pokemon addict he says females are weaker, Or are males weaker?
Do you know? 'Cause I have no clue what so ever

They are the same, but in G/S/C, pokemon of the same kind but different genders were different. Say you have a male Rattata and a female Rattata. The male would have a higher attack, but the female would have higher HP. Females also would give more moves down through breeding. But it's not like this anymore. Males do the same, and the attack on males in generally not higher. Same as female HP. This is true, I know you're probably thinking that pokemon of the same kind, same level, and same gender have higher stats than others but the females do have a higher HP in the second generation games.

In LG I compared the stats of male and female Onix Lv 42 and the female's stats were under by two, So..... I guess that the females are weaker than the males :\

I'm not trying to be sexist or anyrthing sorry if I am
but I think the pokemon games are sterio typing the females,
NOT cool if your a girl :P

Gender is only used for breeding and gender-affecting moves like Attract now.

As for the stats, THEY ARE NOT ANY DIFFERENT. There are only three things that affect stats: EVs, IVs, and natures. IVs and EVs are hidden values. And IVs and natures cannot be changed. Genders don't affect stats anymore.

Yeah, but when I compared the stats all had a two stat point difference though. They are different in stats but, they are only two stat points away, so basicly they are the same. But still the male and female are different in stats.

Ask yourself and answer these three questions before you delcare that male and female Pokemon have a stat difference.

    1. How are the EVs distributed for all six stats in the Onixs?
    2. What are their natures?
    3. What are their IVs for all six stats?

Just from that I'm going to assume you never even read my entire post earlier.

I dunno I don't base my life on pokemon so I thought you meant shinies and stuff

But still there is a small difference.

You don't read anything do you? Genders don't affect stats. Effort Values, Individual Values, and Natures affect stats. EVs, IVs and natures ahve nothing to do with shinies. EVs can add up to a grand total of 127 points to stats. IVs can add up to 31 for all six stats and each nature adds and takes away 10% of two stats.

IVs and natures are randomly determined the moment you get the Pokemon and cannot be changed. EVs are accumulated as a Pokemon levels up, depending on what kind of Pokemon it battles.

Apprently in the game male pokemon stats are higher than female pokemon even if they are at the same level. I don't know why but they are equal in their own ways.

Noooo...they're not...I give up. All of you are hopeless. None of you seem to understand how natures, EVs, and IVs work. Try asking this in the Pokemon GB Movesets & Strategies sub-forum instead. All the competitive people there know genders don't make a difference in stats.

    Like Simon said...

Wow, I'm surprised how most people here still beleive this myth... heck, is it even a myth?
    It might be useful to figure out what EV, IV and Natures are before you actually belive this -_-;

Gender only effects how Attract works. And breeding.

i told you already! females ARE a bit weaker then male pokemon. clearly you all know nothing about pokemon gender.
