I have been doing doing some research and have found that males and females are equal in stats.I put this here since many people i know thought that males were more powerful.Personally i prefer female pokemon but theres no real difference ( at least in stats)

here comes your second opinion should you need one

gah! strange evolutionary chain! xD lol
but i could never see the difference between male and female pokemon either; maybe female pokemon liken faster to their trainers. or male and female pokemons' personalities vary?

a male pikachu will have the same status as a female pikachu.. so I suppose genders don't really matter in battles.. genders are only important in perhaps... breeding? lols. :P

    about that...

    male farfetch'd + ditto* = always male farfetch'd

    *ditto is both genders

this was proven by myself (of 4 farfetch'd all 4 were male) if you've experienced otherwise, please say

    Yarr, this would be better off in the General Games Discussion, I think. X3;

Well for me it's harder to get females as starters so maybe males have higher stats or it's just steriotyped(Im sure I spelt that wrong) XD

<3 Nica--Yeah..Oh and E is meant in that

My brother is a know it all and said while I was reading this that Males are stronger, and Females are faster.

    Well... hes wrong XD

Its only for breeding as far as I know

i think people have just made assumptions on male and female pokemons' differences, there most likely are none

like teresa, i think the only thing they're for is breeding, especialy since pokemon only had genders from the point where you could breed them

I like my teams to be even on genders but many of mine are male

It really depends on the pokemon.

Supposively in the GSC generation, males had slightly more attack than average while females were better in other stats, but i believe thats not the case.

It really only matters with breeding. Males pass on moves easier while the female (of courrse) determines what specioes the baby will be.Im the end, they are each as important as the other.

Well in the Pokemon with so much sexual demorphism they're different species, like Nidoking and Nidoqueen, the male has higher offensive power while the female has higher defensive stats. Same with Latias and Latios.

But that may not be the same with same-species Pokemon...
Eh, I think they're mostly the same.

It really shouldn't matter because males and females can be equal. The only thing that should matter is the nature and its very stereotypical if they made the males stronger than the females

The only difference between a male and a female is there nature and thats about it.

I think the only difference between males and females was in the metal and colour generations.

They used this concept to determine whether a Pokemon traded of R/B/Y was male or female, since those games didn't have genders. If its Attack > Defense, it was a male. If its Defense > Attack it was a female. As far as I know that was the only time that rule was used.

Also, excluding gender-specific and genderless Pokemon, all Pokemon have gender ratios. For example: Pikachu has a 50% chance of being male and a 50% chance of being female. Jigglypuff, on the other hand, has a 25% chance ofbeing male and a 75% chance of being female.

im surprized the even aloud breed because we all know what breeding entails....it is a kids game after all...besides does it matter whats better im for equal rights even if it is in fictional monsters.

when you receive the egg, the old man says he doesn't know where the egg came from, which could be brushed aside by younger players.
but to me it makes it sound like the old man's retarded.
