What are the rates for encountering the Pokemon Backlot claims are in his garden?

I was walking around for two hours yesterday (while waiting at the bank) in the garden and didn't find a single Minun, which was yesterday's Pokemon (did see a few Bonsly, from the day before).

Are you using the Radar or just running around?

I belive using radar going to the shiny patches are easier but not sure

That's how I've made my catches up until today. Today was the first time I had to catch the Pokemon that I was after without using the Radar. Everytime I used it, I got Staravia, but I was after the Porygon. FINALLY, I got my Porygon.

I just walk around the garden for about 10 minutes and it gives me the pokemon that Backlot told me.

I use a combination of the two. Use the radar, get a Roselia or Staravia usually, then walk around in the grass while recharging it.

Guess I'm just supposed to have horrid luck with swarms/mansion lately. I had to restart 10 times yesterday to not get a Sinnoh Dex Pokemon in the garden.

I dont think your suppose to use the radar, thats why. Its going to take a long time, thats what the word rare means in this case

I had to just suck it up and trade for two of the "Swarm Pokemon" that I wanted. Smoochum and Surskit. I couldn't take it anymore. Day after day after day with no luck. At least with the TG you can reset.

I bought the game day one. Probably finished with the Elite 4 a week later at most. I've been going to the TG since and today marks the very first day I've gotten Bonsly! I just gave up on trying to get him and got one on the GTS. Needless to say, as soon as I saw him in the TG, I put him to sleep and didn't let him breathe until he was caught!

Took me around 10-20 mins to find the pokemon that Backlot claims to be there.
