Map Connection Problem - What am I doing wrong?

So I'm using Pokemon Essentials to connect two maps. (RPGM XP)

I tried to use the PE's Map connector, but it always ended up overlaying the map I'm trying to connect, atop the base map - even if I attempt to connect it with the 'Route 1' that is provided by PE. (the new map ends up juxtaposed over Route 1)
I followed the directions to a 'T' and made sure the edges just barely touched.

In the connections.txt PBS file, I tried to manually connect these two maps, through pokemon Essentials.

Two maps - one named 'Bottom'(33) and one named 'Top'(22). Both using the same tilesets, neither have any events on them.
Bottom is a bit bigger, but they should both be aligning/connecting by their upper left and lower left corners respectively. (sized 20x15 vs 25x15)

Again, same problem - the 'Bottom' map overlaid the 'Top', so whichever map I was on, only 'Bottom' would show, and my sprite would end up in weird places due to passabilities overlapping as well.
I'd include a picture, but it'd only be a close-up of the 'Bottom' map.

I did already try switching the two around, so it would be the bigger map ID connecting to the smaller map ID, but it didn't make a difference.

I've already searched these forums, and asked Google multiple times in different ways. I've found a few 'This is happening to me, too!' but no answers.

Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

    I solved the problem!

When connecting maps, make sure in the Metadata (accessable through 'Debug' when doing a playthrough) has 'SnapEdges' set to 'False'
When any of them (or all of them) are set to 'True', the maps layer atop each other, instead of connecting and scrolling smoothly.

hi I've keep receiving this error despite setting 'SnapEdges' set to 'False' on literally every map. they just stick to each other, unresposive to mouse.
