May's sadness

This is for the pokemon hoenn start, right? That's when may just wants to travel and she's not gettin' much done...I think.

As it says on the top left hand corner---it's from the Battle Frontier>_>.

Maybe she is homesick.

I think it is the fact that Ash is oblivious to all hints lol

Your both wrong! She's depressed because, if you remember from the series, she started feeling down on herself because she lost the Grand Festival for a second time and she started to wonder if she was cut out for being a coordinator. There was a few episodes on it, Drew ended up snapping her back into her senses.

You're wrong, she loses the grand festival in season 9 where the opening would be "SPURT!", which is the final Battle Frontier season.

No, it didn't hurt me, because May's a cartoon character. Meaning she's not real.

ummm yeah... thats the second time she went to grand festival. it was kind of meshed all in one.

...except this opening isn't Spurt XD.

Spurt was the opening used when she had lost for the second time the Grand Festival.

oooo now I see wat you guys are saying... ummmm... foreshadowing?
Now, that is a possibility I have to say. Though it could purely just be aesthetic to break away from the super happy sugary openings they always do.

Because the lyrics say "Egao choppiri namida"

"I smile...with some tears"

I was watching undubbed pokemon intro and in it, you will see May looking sad behind a tree.
I didn't like AG alot, but it hurts me to see May sad like that, what about you?
It's to make the visuals match the lyrics. The part in question is "Egao choppiri namida" (A smile with just a few tears).

Edit: Jorah beat me to it.

Animé is a type of cartoon, so yes, she is a cartoon character. Whatever feelings she's supposed to have aren't real.

anime is short for animēshon (according to wikipedia XD) which just means animation -i.e. cartoon.

So, yeah, she is a cartoon character. Though its unfair to say that she can't have emotions. The character, at least, can be happy or sad.

Well, characters are made so you can have some sort of feelings for them, whether it be like or hate. If you don't have some sort of feelings for them, you end up just not caring they exist in the programme and wonder why they are there at all. Like Brock.

LOL. Aw, but I like the guy, tbh. He just gets hard-done by by the writers. But I digress.

Brock's possibly my favourite character after Gary and Ritchie. It's great watching him pathetically fail every time he tries to pick up a girl, you know? And for the first season, he was practically Ash's mentor when the PokéDex wasn't handy. Not to mention he uses Rock-Type Pokémon; that's a sign of coolness of the bat.

I wasn't too keen on watching the show after Brock left Ash to stay with Professor Ivy, but I pulled through. It was difficult, and until he came back, I didn't feel the show was too great.

I agree. That's why they also included a sad scene of Satoshi, Kasumi, and Takeshi in "Ready Go!".
