Film Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

The second film in the Maze Runner series, "The Scorch Trials", recently came out! Has anyone seen it yet? If so, how did you find it? Favourite parts? For those who have read the books, how did you find it in comparison to the novel?

I haven't seen it yet myself but looking to do so as soon as I can!

I have read the books (including the prequel) and I have seen the first movie, but not the second. The first movie did not give the books any justice and wasnt very good imo. I imagine the action in the second movie will be entertaining, but they wont explain stuff correctly. I dont expect much from it tbh.

What a let down.

Spoiler:

Story seemed scattered, no real end-goal in sight. Lots of bits repeating on and on.

Crazy bits (that lightning?) that just didn't add much or make much sense. Like the zombies who decide to wake up when the posts on, when they've been shouting and walking around with flashlights for ages. Same with the ones in the sewer who didn't budge until a rat woke them up.

Characters we learnt next to nothing about. Even Thomas is still pretty much a mystery (bar that one realisation).

The first movie was nice, it did what it said on the tin.

This felt boring by comparison.

A fun watch coming from someone who hasn't read the books. I liked that it explored further ground going to different place and such (compared to the first film which was all set in the maze). A couple of times I thought the movie was gonna end whenever the screen went black or at one point when the camera focuses and zooms on Thomas's face. I wonder what random enemy they'll have to flee from next - We had huge mechanical beasts and now zombies. Ghosts next?
