In B2/W2, you were tasked to collect medals for a competition known as "Medal Rally". There are 255 medals total throughout the game. The medals don't really do anything special, and the only way to obtain these medals is to talk to Mr. Medal if he appears at the Pokemon Center. Obtaining some of these medals however, is impossible in today's time, such as any medal related to the Dream World, which has been shut down.
