'Brand New Key' singer and original Woodstock performer Melanie dies, aged 76
Melanie, best known for her 1971 hit single 'Brand New Key', has died at the age of 76. Her children shared the news in a statement.

I heard the news of her passing just before bed last night. I couldn't get to sleep. This one broke me.
In times of anger, hate and division, Melanie sang songs of love, peace and togetherness, longing for a brighter world. We need more of that.
