    This weekend we all here is the US celebrate the unofficial beginning of summer but there is a much more important reason for the holiday. Memorial Day. The day we honor those that have given the ultimate sacrifice defending their country.

    With this in mind, take a few minutes to honor those in YOUR country that have died in service protecting your borders.
     
    I have great respect for everyone in the military. They've earned it.

    Now if only our government felt the same way....
     
    I hope for the best to those who serve our country.

    Thank you for all your hard work. ^_^

    Is this in relation to any particular war? Like ANZAC day for Australia? Either way, thanks US soldiers for protecting the Americans I guess.

    It started after the Civil War, when groups of people would take a day to leave flowers/flags at the headstones of fallen soldiers (hence the original name "Decoration Day"), but after WW1 it was expanded to include present and future war casualties as well.

    In any case, /salute to those who served our country and served it well.

    Hm... Memorial day xP I don't do anything special, but here is my salute to them. I give my thanks for their protection. xD This makes me smiley.

    This is a very big Holiday for me. Both of my Grandfathers were Soldiers. I can sympathize to a degree with those in the military. I respect that they are willing to lay down their own lives to protect what they care about and for their beliefs. So, I also would like to extend my thanks to every soldier out there. You're doing something truly honorable.
     
    I am actually helping to present the colors at a Memorial Day event tomorrow, so I can give my tribute not only now, but then as well. Here's to all the American troops worldwide. *Salutes*
     
    I salute at these heroic soldiers. Without them, would've existed right now..
     
    Heh, well I'm Canadian so we don't celebrate this holiday, but we do have a neighbouring holiday, Victoria Day.

    But I guess more people here are American, so happy Memorial Day :P
     
    I won't be doing anything interesting for Memorial Day this year, but I'm still as grateful to those that have fought so hard to protect this country. Its one thing to fight but to have your life on the line makes these brave men and women more than heroic enough to get my respect.

    Thanks to all the soldiers who fought the wars for us. If it wasn't for you guys, we wouldn't be around today. So this day is for you. I hope everyone who has a family member who fought in any war, celebrate. :>
